It is exciting to start a new academic year and I am so excited about the football season as well. It will be a pivotal year for the basketball program also, I hope Rand can get it done, he needs to win this season. My daughter, a proud UCA graduate, had our first grandchild this week. Linda and I are going to New Haven, CT in the morning to see Ellewyn Victoria McKay (Elle) in the morning. She and her husband will be in Houston at MD Anderson next June, I need to get them to LR!!! Thank all of you for your patience with me/us/UCA this last year. A new academic year and a new start is so refreshing! I have enjoyed getting to know several of you these past months. I would love to visit in person at a ball game in a few weeks!!

Congratulations Old Bear on your new granddaughter. Also thanks for helping hire our new President. Now only does he know what he is doing but he's a nice person, yesterday after the back to school reception which he and mrs meadors hosted, he helped us clean up by carrying chairs, tables and the like. don't remember any of the other presidents doing that.
I hope the press doesn't make him wish he had stayed in South Carolina.

just got back from CT to see the new baby bear - she is quite cute and she is a good baby. Grandmother Old Bear had so much fun she stayed in New Haven to help with the new addition. Old Bear will get lonesome pretty quick. Thank you all for the kind words and congrats!!
