Ashley Nance has moved quickly in her short coaching career.

In just her second season as a head coach, Nance guided the Conway Christian girls basketball team to a Class 2A state championship this past March. Now, she’s moving to Class 7A.

Nance was named the new Conway High girls coach Monday by the Conway School District, filling the position made vacant when former Lady Cats coach Janet Taylor stepped down to focus more on her golf coaching duties...

Great to have an alum in this position. Ashley may be young but she has proven
to be leader and team builder. Go Ashley...

While covering the state Class 2A basketball tournament in Carlisle last season, I talked to several supporters from Conway Christian who expressed mixed emotions and said pretty much the same thing.

They were elated at the job that Ashley Nance had one in two years in developing a fledgling program to a legitimate state title contender in the Arkansas Activities Association.

“It’s great, but I don’t know how long we can keep her, particularly in larger opportunIties come her way,” said one after another...
