Let the Lions creep a little closer in Q4 after the game was really decided...........Proffit ended with 22 and Watts with 13........6 others ahd 5 or more.......

Has there ever been a better 10 minutes of defense and domination by SBs?

To paraphrase Coach Destiny Rogers, the Q3 is the type of defense SBs want to play all the time..I guess so....

Next up is UNO at 2pm in the FC on Saturday...

I tweeted this last night: I don't know what was said at halftime, but whatever it was, it worked. Third quarter was by far our best quarter of the year. Just dominating. It was beautiful.

Congratulations to Maggie Proffitt on becoming the 25th player in school history to reach 1,000 points. She is also the 6th to do it in the D1 era. Amazing being that we have been in D1 10 years and we have 6 players with 1000+ points with three different coaches.

Eight feels great now let's go for nine!

On a side note, ACU lost last night at Lamar. That puts the Lady Wildcats at 9-1 in SLC and we are at 8-1 and face UNO tomorrow. Should we beat UNO and get to 9-1, technically ACU is still a 1/2 game up on us because they beat us. However, they are ineligible for the SLC tournament so should things remain "tied" we would get the #1 seed.

Stats pretty even except UCA +3 on 3s and +11 on FTs.........a little concerning was UNO was +16 on PIP...........Proffit led with 18, Baudoin 14, Mullons 13 and Watts 11.

More than 1500 saw a ranked take care of business on their home court.......

I'm nervous for the Sugar Bears. They've got some tough games ahead. If not tough..then the odds of winning out are tough even for ACU just due to number of games left. ACU also has played McNeese and NWST only once AND they all have losing conference records.

Still trail 40-31 late in Q3......10 H1 TOs by SBs led to 15 points by NWS plus Demons shooting 50% for 3s..........better pick up the pace on defense and not turn the ball over.......

UGLY (understatement of the year) game and the Sugarbears streak is snapped with a 56-60 loss at home. Win #20 is still out there...

Too bad.......sounded sluggish........Maggie did all she could to tie the game late..........14 TOs led to 23 points and NWS was 7/11 for 3s.....pretty much the game.........only 14/22 FTs did not help.......Baudoin had a solid 19/5 but added 4 TOs........Maggie had 12 and Logan 10.......

Put it behind them and get some road wins starting at IUW on Sat.....

Coach.....we were not ready to play and that is my fault.........we played scared........we could not guard them.....they brought energy..........fans, band and cheer tonight was great...........maybe this will be wake up call to finish strong.......

Very tough loss. I knew NWST was going to come in and be aggressive, especially after the loss we handed to them at their place a couple of weeks ago. Had a chance to tie or win it in regulation but turned the ball over at a crucial time. I give NWST credit. By the way, Perez from NWST can really play. I am glad it is her senior year. She is really good.

Sugar Bears will bounce back. And we will learn from this. Beat UIW Saturday and go from there.

Sugar Bears woke up a little too late in that game. But honestly for a team to go undefeated or win the conference with just one loss sounds pretty tough. Let's hope for another loss or two for ACU and take care of business. Hopefully this game was a wake up call for the girls. =D>
