This won't be the same UAM, however. Chris Ratcliff, a former assistant to Jeff Caldwell at Henderson State, is in his first year at UAM having taken over for Bob Boldon – and he's brought with him many of the philosophies the Lady Reddies rode to great success in recent past.

Should be a good game!! GO Sugar Bears!!!!

Hope to see everyone out at the Farris Center tonight. 7 pm tipoff vs. the blossoms. Maybe a barnburner, who knows. But I do get the impression neither coach cares for one another a whole lot.

it was a good win. After falling behind early, which seems to be a theme, they stepped it up big in the latter moments of the first half, and for the most part cruised from there. They'll be at .500 at no time.

I saw in the story where UAM had a 6'5" center!
And what happened to them scoring 80 points or something?

Well, UCA came in averaging 70 ppg, and UAM averaging 69 ppg.

Ah, I had read this in the story
Quote:
"We're not underestimating them by any means. We know they're putting up 80 points per game so we have to be prepared."

Guess I could have looked for myself.

They did have a 6-5 center, and she went off early in the game. But once Piggee stopped their PG penetration and after the combination of Oden and Love kept platooning on the center, their early scoring run went to a dead halt. UCA's D and rebounding was the key in my book last night. Randle led in scoring, but I think Piggee gets nod for player of the game.

Still, we held them well below their average whether it was 80 or 69 doesn't really matter. I am just glad that the Sugar Bears were able to get the win and hopefully get more confidence before heading into SLC play (only 5 games left; Philander Smith, Xavier (LA), Ole Miss, UMKC, and Oral Roberts)! I predict that we will win at least 3 of those 5 games to give us a 6-6 record going into SLC play!

BTW, I'm only going off the top of my head, but I believe that with the win last night over UAM, Coach Seals-Horton moved into 2nd place in all time wins in UCA history behind her coach Ron Marvel. I am thinking others can validate that fact or not, but I think that is what I recall...

If I am wrong, I'm wrong though.
