Don't forget Thursday night at the Farris Center, the Sugar Bears will host Hendrix at 7 pm! It's the first time the girls will be in uniforms and show off. CMD and his staff were at Bear Backers today and he is wanting a packed house for this event. So please come out! Also, in the event you can not make it out to the FC on Thursday night, the game will be aired on The Bear 91.3 and on UCAsports.com, beginning at 6:45.

See you guys there Thursday night!!!

Does exhibition = free to non-students?

Dang, I've got a high school football game that night. The seasons are starting to overlap.

DANIEL, SUGAR BEARS DEBUT WITH HENDRIX
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL • Nov 5, 2008

CONWAY — A new era of Sugar Bear basketball begins, even if not officially, on Thursday night when UCA hosts NCAA Division III Hendrix College at 7 p.m. in the first game under head coach Matt Daniel.

Though the exhibition contest, which is free to the won't count in the record books, the game is very real for a UCA program breaking in a new, young coaching staff that is teaching a new system to a young team coming off a 7-22 record last season...

It's UCA vs. Hendrix again in a basketball exhibition

By DAVID MCCOLLUM
LOG CABIN STAFF WRITER

The University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears and the Hendrix women will open the doors on a basketball rivalry tonight that hasn't seen light in 13 years and was played only five times in the early part of the last century.

The two Conway women's college teams never played in the old Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference because Hendrix didn't reinstate basketball for the modern era until 1991. They'll begin the season with an exhibition game at 7 p.m. tonight at the Farris Center.

There will be no admission charge...

GEAUX Sugar Bears!!!

FINAL

UCA 70
Hendrix 55

Sugar Bears got the lead out to 23 during the 2nd half, but let it slip away toward the end. Sugarbears held Hendrix to only 23 points in the 2nd half. Seems to be a good first effort for this young team learning a new system. So for those of you who were there, how was the crowd? The distribution of fans?

Crowd was pretty good for an exhibition game. I'm terrible at estimating crowds, but I would guess in the area of 2000 to 2500.

Boat load of turnovers by both teams.
