No fgs the last 2:37 for the Sugar Bears.
Hopefully the win means that we've gotten a lot better since last year and not just that JSU has gotten worse. Either way, shooting a higher percentage from every spot on the floor is going to have to be a priority. No team should ever shoot 47.4% from the free throw line.
Next thing we know, you'll go and bring up how they are just 6-45 on threes the last two games outside of Taylor (who is a damn nice player, by the way).
I don't know that Jackson State is any worse, but their strength this year is guard play instead of athletic forwards – meaning it's a better matchup for the Sugar Bears. Guiden was all over their leading scorer and didn't let her get anything. They couldn't own the glass or get easy shots. Even a lot of what they got was well-defended, they just made some tough shots.
Knock down free throws, fast-break layups and open 3s and that's a 30-something point win. For the most part it was a more dominant performance than the 60-46 final shows. In all I'd chalk it up to us being better. Now just got to work on hitting some more shots.
