UCA is 14-5/4-2 with a four game win streak....

NWSU is 11-7/4-1 and 1/2 game ahead of SugarBears in loss column...batttle for SLC/East lead at stake....

Lady Demons are a good team and has played a solid pre-SLC schedule with close losses on the road at Alabama, NC State, Memphis and Rice.....struggled in road winat UAPB.....only SLC loss is to TAMCC who is tied for 2nd in the West....they are a prettty good shooting team and avg 6-7 3s per game....only obvious weakness in stats is being outrebounded at times and has a fairly high level of TOs at 19-20....avg 9 steals per game...balnace scoring from Top 5-6 players....Brooke Shepard avgs 10 per game and shoots 51%+ from ....Brittany Houston is top scorer at 13+ and hits 82%+ from FT....

This looks to be a tough road game for SBs.....need to win rebounding, cut out TOs, and keep NWSU off FT line.....defending 3s might be a challenge.....booth teams can score well ...

Did the girls make it out of town for the game before the roads got bad and did the Demons make it up here?

FWIW, I say it's still stoopid, expense wise, to be playing games like this - guys here, girls there on same day.

I know the SBs made it to LA, because they left at 7:00 am Friday morning. I don't know if they made it up here.

What is the justification for this anyways? I've watched doubleheaders at UALR before...

SugarBears led 20-19 with about 8 minutes left in half then Lady Demons went on a 15-4 run......Herbert has 3 fouls on what sounds ike some very picky fouls....poor shooting by UCA and better by NWSU.....

UCA shot 9/30 for 30% from field vs NWSU 11-30 at 37%...SBs were 3/9 for 33% from 3 wile NWS was 4-15 for 27%.....UCA shot only 1/4 from FT and NWS shot 8-13 for 61%...UCA outrebounded Demons by 24-21 but had 13 TOs vs only 6 for NWS.....NWS won benchpoints 17-7 as FR Trudy Armstead put in 11.... ....FTs and TOs look to be key today...Rogers and Herbert lead UCA with 7 each.....

Let's go SugarBears....strong to the finish...


As to doubleheaders......it seems like few conferences still do these.....does allow a home game for each school each conference date ..either men or women at home...
