apparently this is the head coach of Friday night's opponent, who at 28 yrs old, is also the youngest coach in D1 this season...

Quote:
Hodges plans to keep up this attention-seeking stunt all season because any extra publicity will surely help a program that averaged less than 1,000 fans a game last season and has historically struggled to attract top recruits. Morehead State won 22 games a year ago and made its first-ever postseason appearance, but the Eagles experienced 10 straight losing season in the 90s and 2000s and have only captured a league championship once...

Air time Friday night from Morehead Kentucky is 5:45 pm on The Bear 91.3 and UCAsports.com. I am now intrigued on what he could possibly break out for their first home game of the season (vs. us)...

So Morehead State must pay their coach more than we do?

Morehead State comes in 0-2 now after a pair of road losses:
@ #9 Kentucky 82-48
@ #12 Notre Dame 91-28

So I'm not sure what to read into them under their new 1st year head coach other than he is beyond a flashy terrible dresser. Morehead State ended its season with a loss in the Women’s CBI tournament. MSU finished 2nd OVC last year. MSU had 22 victories in 2009-10, setting the school’s NCAA-era (1981-82-present) record for victories in a season. The Eagles also finished the OVC regular season with a 14-4 mark and a new school single season conference wins record. The 14-4 effort was also the highest conference winning percentage in a season in school history. Plus MSU has the OVC Player of the Year returning for them...

I figure they probably do – though that's going to be the case at the vast majority of D-I schools – but he actually got the suits free from the company. So at least he's not having to pay to look like a complete moron. And every high school female basketball star who thinks John Daly is awesome will surely think this guy is the best thing going since he wears the same pants. You can't begin to fathom just how much of an impact that will have on recruiting.

If Coach Daniel has to resort to something crazy to garner attention, I think he'd be better served to do something the younger crowd might appreciate more ... like wearing his hair like Pauly D from Jersey Shore

Sugarbears drop a tough game 69-48. Herbert was held to single point scoring and rebounding! Hopefully we can regroup and win the next two!

Morehead state is a good team. They opened the season at 2 ranked teams, so this was their home opener ( I think). They finished the season last year with an RPI of 162, we finished with a 220. Also, this team is still learning to play with all the new players, and it was the first road game. Hopefully we will get the next two ( we should anyway)

So are we. Hopefully it was just a bad game for us where everyone was out of sync. I'm pretty sure MD was not a happy camper. I figure he'll have them regrouped for the next game today.

That's a 22-win team from a better league playing at home for the first time, with the conference Player of the Year running around bombing 3's from everywhere. I wouldn't worry about it. It's one of 29. If anything, it's a good wake-up call and gives the coaches a chance to teach some good lessons moving forward.

Not at all surprised at the outcome, though I wouldn't have expected that wide a margin. Oh well, new game today.
