We all knew this was going to be a tough year for the Men's BB. Corliss had them in position to win yesterday but he can't make their free throws for them. This is the year that Coach Williamson learns the ends and outs of the conference and hopefully, pulls together some new recruits and transfers that can play his style of basketball.

You can't compare Coach Daniel's situation this year to Corliss's. Additionally, you can't compare Men's and Women's basketball. Have you seen how little parity exists in women's basketball? The women's team with better players always wins. Evident of the UConn women winning 90 in a row.

It was a great come from behind win on the road. We have ripped NW State apart the last 2 years in the 2nd half down in Natchitoches. Big week coming up for the SB's, Nicholls on Wednesday night at 7 pm at home. Then the Lamar rematch at home on Saturday at 2 pm. BIG week ahead...

SUGAR BEARS DOMINANT IN SECOND HALF, DEFEAT LADY DEMONS 70-52
1/15/2011 5:44:48 PM

NATCHITOCHES, La. — Central Arkansas utilized stifling defense and a trio of big runs – one to take the lead, one to take over and one to take care of Northwestern State as the Sugar Bears outscored the Lady Demons 43-19 in the second half en route to a convincing 70-52 win at Prather Coliseum on Saturday.

The Sugar Bears shot 61.5 percent in the second half, held the Lady Demons to 30 percent, forced 11 turnovers and had nine steals in the decisive period.

"That was a championship half of basketball," said UCA head coach Matt Daniel. "We were defensively locked in and that was the difference. We had too many turnovers and not enough field goals in the first half; but in the second half we were knocking down shots, guarding, and were a better basketball team."...
