AFTER RE-WRITING RECORD BOOK, HERBERT NAMED SLC PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Guiden named Honorable Mention
3/7/2011 12:48:47 PM

KATY, Texas — Rare is it that a women's basketball player has led the Southland Conference in both scoring and rebounding in a season. Even more rare to do so while leading the league in field goal percentage as well.

In the league's 29 years of sponsoring women's basketball, only four players have accomplished the first feat. The second, only two.

But only one person has done it twice.

After leading the league in all three categories as a freshman last season, Central Arkansas sophomore forward Megan Herbert once again paced the Southland this year with 18.1 points and 11.1 rebounds per game and a 59.0 field goal percentage...
