CONWAY — Central Arkansas junior forward Megan Herbert (Rogers, Ark., Shiloh Christian) has been selected by USA Basketball as an alternate for the US national team that will compete in the 2011 Pan American Games from Oct. 21-25 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Herbert, who was the 2010-11 Southland Conference Player of the Year, did not make the 12-player roster but will be an alternate at her position in the event a replacement is needed.
The team consists of 11 collegiate student-athletes and one high school senior, including three players with previous USA Basketball experience...
What a great honor just to be nominated!
As a side note, the girls held their first official practice of the season yesterday! November 11 cant get here soon enough!
