A big non-conference home matchup between the Sugar Bears and the 4-4 UTMartin Skyhawks tips off at 2 pm at the Farris Center on Saturday, with pregame on The Bear 91.3 beginning at 1:40.

UTM won their first ever OVC Tournament Championship last year and lost to Duke in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament. They have 2 great sophomore guards who both average 20 points a game basically, (20.9 and 19.8) and were All-OVC picks last year and in the preseason. UTM was picked 2nd in the preseason to win the OVC. They are really good. It would be great to have a big vocal crowd out in the FC tomorrow afternoon, ala the Indiana and Bama games. It'll also be the last time the girls play at home again until December 30, too.

Nice comeback...down 32-24 at half, then tie at 57 at end of regulation,,,then win 69-65 in OT......that's playing like a team who expects to win.

An OK 41% from FG (only 35% 3s) but a very solid 84% from FTs. However, shot 52% after first half and 60% in OT.

SBs win rebs 38-24.

First win over UTM.

Butler and Newsome had 27 and 14 for UTM. Martin was 21/25 for FTs.

Now 7-2; Highpoint up next in the Bahamas.

We better be careful with High Point, they have beaten VCU, Davidson and Pittsburgh. Better not be looking ahead to Georgia Tech.
