Down here in Natchitoches, the Sugar Bears, the hottest team in the SLC, winners of their last 5, take on Northwestern State who has lost 3 in a row, and 8 of their last 9 I believe.

The Lady Demons are 5-15, 1-6 in SLC play (T-12), and are basically down to 7 players due to a rash of injuries earlier in the season. But the 7 they do have we've seen before and they have had some success against the SB's in the past. Northwestern St. lost to Southeastern La. on the road Saturday 73-66.

The Sugar Bears come in with the best record in the league (16-4, 6-1) and moved up to #15 in this week's Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25*. UCA beat Northwestern State a few weeks ago in the Farris Center 84-43. The 41 point win marked the largest win in SLC by the Sugar Bears, while the loss was the largest in Northwestern State's SLC history. But the Lady Demons are ready this time, even going so far as wearing eye black during practice yesterday, while their coaches wore camo shirts and eye black.

Obviously the game is the SLC TV game of the week, but airtime on The Bear 91.3 and UCAsports.com will begin at 6:40 as always, live from slightly renovated Prather Coliseum.

*McNeese dropeed from 11th to 12th after the loss to us, we move up 2 spots from 17 to 15.

This I don't understand. They lose and drop only 1, but we beat a higher ranked team and only went up 2? Oh well....just win!

UCA 23-44=67 (17-4/7-1)
NWA 28-33=61

Cut this way too close but give Demons their due in defending their home court and playing much better than at Conway. Give the SBs credit for never giving up. A conference road win is always worth taking, no matter how you play.

Herbert was 23/13....Duever had a big 19 on 8/14.....

Coach: Performance tonight was embarrasing...got to fix our approach...not much to say...got to go back to work...every night wil be a dog fight...the only reason we did comeback was we only had 10 TOs...our efficiency was not very good...will be a tough game at UTA in their new arena....

Next is UTA Sat on the road at 2pm
