Quote:
With two of their remaining four regular-season games left at home, starting with tonight's 7 p.m. clash with Nicholls State, the Sugar Bears – who climbed to No. 11 in this week's Mid-Major Top 25 – have a chance to complete a run unparalleled in program history.

38 - 18 at the half. Sugar Bears are the sharks, Colonels are the blood in the water.

Lol I think the Colonels are more like a dead whale carcass and the Sugar Bears are feasting.

On the road and not able to catch game...box score looks like Guiden and Herbert had very good nights....lots of others contributed as well....good way to take care of business and leave home for two important road games ..... hope they come back to a packed house to close out regular season....

SUGAR BEARS WIN 11TH STRAIGHT, CLOSE IN ON LEAGUE TITLE

CONWAY — Nakeia Guiden had a season-high 21 points and hit 1,000 for her career as Central Arkansas handily defeated Nicholls 67-47 inside the Farris Center on Wednesday to extend their winning streak to 11 games and run their home record to 15-0.

"We played hungry," said UCA head coach Matt Daniel, whose team needs just one more win to clinch at least a share of the Southland Conference championship and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. "I thought the team with the most energy would be the team to come out on top tonight, and that proved to be true."

The Sugar Bears (22-4, 12-1 Southland) jumped on the Colonels (13-13, 6-7) early, building an 18-2 lead in the first seven minutes, and never relented as they built a lead as large as 25 in the second half and cruised to their eighth win by 20 or more points this season.

The win gets UCA past the 21-win mark for the first time as a Division I member and puts them 40 games over .500 over the last three seasons at 64-24 – a .727 winning percentage, best in the Southland during that time...

Sugar Bears, Guiden both reach benchmarks

By David McCollum

On a night in which coach Matt Daniel coached in his bare feet, Nakeia Guiden reached a milestone feet, the University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears gave the Nicholls State Colonels a kicking from start to finish at the Farris Center.

The 67-47 victory put the UCA women (22-4) one game away from clinching an outright Southland Conference title with three to go. The Sugar Bears have won 11 games in a row and are 15-0 at the Farris Center.

Daniel coached barefooted in support of “Samaritan’s Feet,” a program that donates shoes to children in underdeveloped countries for every head coach who coaches without shoes...
