Don't mean to rain on the parade, but I think you're forgetting Volleyball's 2009 and 2010 back-to-back SLC championships.

Congratulations to the team, especially the Seniors. It's been fun watching you play.

But when the University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears got the mix right Saturday at the Farris Center, the taste of their first outright Southland Conference title was delicious.

The UCA women (24-5, 14-2) capped a 16-0 home campaign and head to next week’s Southland Conference tournament in Katy, Texas, with the program’s first outright women’s basketball title in NCAA Division I after what turned into a routine, 66-45 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Shortly after Tom Burnett, Southland Conference commissioner, presented the Sugar Bears with the regular-season trophy, each of the Sugar Bears, assistant coaches, managers, trainers and peripheral members of the program got the scissors and took down a strand of the nets on the two goals at the Farris Center. Many Sugar Bears were teary as they watched each teammate climb the ladder...
