It's time to give Matt a raise! =D> Gotta keep him here as long as possible. He's a great coach that I know will one day move onto a larger program...but let's keep him here and establish a tradition of winning. Where do I donate to his salary?

Did that come out wrong or something?

1. Yes we have a winning tradition....maybe my word wasn't right there...don't know exactly what to say other than I want him here as a long term coach to keep up that winning we have established with him.

2. I think we need to pay him more. Is that why he would be leaving? Then let's pay him more.

3. My meager pennies may not add up to much in his salary, but many people giving the same might bump it up enough that he stays.

We know that 8) ....I was hoping to get it reposted so maybe new people would see it again..never hurts to have that info up there again and again! I've noticed when I visit the board sometimes that we have 15 guests and a few members signed in at one time and maybe the guests are Bear fans that haven't read where to give. That's all.

Example just now:

Looks like he changed his mind. He appears to be headed to Marshall. I really hate it when people say they aren't leaving and then turn around and leave anyway.
Good luck...

Here's wishing Matt the best, sorry to see him leave. We are going to have to
find a way to step forward salarywise, if we want to keep young successful coaches a little longer but moving on is part of game.

Article about Marshall men's basketball coach getting hired two years ago. If his salary is indicative of what Matt will be making...congrats Coach Daniel!

Quote:
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall basketball coach Tom Herrion will be paid $394,000 annually under the terms of his new five-year contract.

From an article of a local paper last year:

Quote:
That's because Marshall officials were rolling over Chadwick's five-year contract annually until Hamrick halted the practice after last season. But it still means if Marshall terminated Chadwick now, the school would have to pay off the final three years of his pact -- a sum of about $300,000.

MU obviously can't afford that.

Sound like a great contract? That's not the half of it. Besides a base salary of about $100,000, Chadwick also is paid $1,000 per win and receives additional compensation for graduating players and speaking engagements.

So the women's head coach was making $100k a year? According to the UCA site, Matt was making $74,160 at UCA. I guess that's a pay raise, but enough to go to another school with the great things he has going on here? Well..maybe I guess.
