We'd like to interrupt a UCA Sugar Bear Volleyball Championship and a UCA Football Championship to bring you tonight's women's basketball game between your 3-0 UCA Sugar Bears and the the 0-3 Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters down in Ruston. Airtime on The Bear 91.3 & UCAgameday.com will begin at 6:40, with tipoff at 7 pm.

Also at the half, I'll have a special guest...ok a lengthy recorded interview, with Coach David McFatrich! That's all from Ruston for now! Go SugarBears!

SUGAR BEARS HEAD TO LA. TECH SEEKING THIRD STRAIGHT ROAD WIN
11/20/2012 3:46:00 AM

Central Arkansas will look to remain perfect on the young season as the 3-0 Sugar Bears travel to Ruston, La. to take on Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Sugar Bears, playing their third straight road game, are coming off wins at Southern Illinois and Alcorn State in a pair of games in which they allowed just 42.5 points per game on 28.5 percent shooting. Senior forward Megan Herbert averaged 19 points and 19.5 rebounds for the week en route to her 14th Southland Conference Player of the Week honor, and Courtney Duever recorded her fourth career double-double in the win at Alcorn and averaged 11 points and nine rebounds for the week...

FINAL

UCA 23-40=63 (3-1)
LTU 35-30=65 (1-3)

Rice misses winning shot at buzzer by a sliver...

Coach: Easy to fight when you get down as there is no pressure....team did not play well ...too many mental msitakes at the end.....not sure what else to say....

Footnote ...Coach not happy......

UCA v LTU

FGs: 42% v 35%
3s: 27% v 28%
FTs: 71% v 81% (21 of 26)
Rebs: 36 v 35
TOs: 19 v 16 (MH and Duever comobiend for 8 TOs!!!)

TOs hurt but LTU had 9 FT margin......that did it....

MH: 34/13
Parsons: 14/5
Rice: 9/2 with 3 steals

UCA bench won 20-9

Missed opportunity..as SteveO said , this beats a 41 point loss a few years back at Ruston.....next up is UT-Martin on the road.....

LTU up 64-63 with....2.5 seconds left...Parson hit long 3 to tie 63 all but Duever fouled Tech who made 1 of 2......

La Tech leads 61-60 with 1:02....

We did fight when we got down," said UCA head coach Sandra Rushing. "It's easy to fight when you're down because there's no pressure. I'm frustrated with this basketball game. We're not listening, we're not executing, and we're not doing the things I'm asking them to do. But that will change."

Sounds like Coach Rushing is a little ticked off.
