Coach needs to lay into these girls after the game. This is pathetic. Not playing to their potential at all. We beat ourselves, simple as that. ASU is a BAD team.

FINAL

UCA 23+28=51 (4-3)
ASU 24+34=58 (2-6)

UCA v ASU

FGs: 34% v 38%
3s: 14% v 33%
FTs: 70% v 50%
Rebs: 48 v 38
TOs: 21 v 10

Too bad to waste a solid rebounding game to poor TO night....

Herbert: 18/9 (MH had 8 TOs!!!)
Duever: 8/13.....and no TOs....good job...
Rogers: 7/12

Got to get the sloppy play fixed very quickly....they are much better than they are playing....this was a game to win ...

Coach:

Gave credit to ASU energy and defense....

Mental part of game killed us..pleased with effort....

We threw it in the stands several times....taking too many 3s....

Losing Micah hurt us mentally but got to overcome that....

Have to have better mental toughness.....lay off is a concern....

There is a disconnect somewhere. I think these girls just aren't responding to Coach Rushing like they did to our previous coach. They aren't used to her style of coaching or play. It may not be the season we were hoping for, but once Coach Rushing recruits her players, we will start to see what she can do!

I don't blame Rushing at all. She seems genuinely pissed off at their horrible play as well.

Coaching changes do have some challenges but these ladies are talented and know how to play ball....team chemistry may not be there with loss of Des Rogers who was a HUGE part of the team and they are searching for the switch to come on...just need to keep at it and get ready for conference.....need to take care of SAU then two tough road games at ULM and USM......

Glad to see they played really hard in the last 3 minutes to close from 13 to 5....the missed 3 with about 30 seconds to go changed the flow.....a 56-54 game would have put lots of pressure on ASU .....

This has been the m- o of this team for the past few years. Always play
From behind, and pull it out at the end. They are not self motivated. I see
It a lot in all sports...it"s just this generation of kids. They are laid back and
Seem to not have a killer instinct. Sometimes it is a good trait, sometimes it
Gives a bad impression. Coach Rushing will have to figure out what makes each
Individual girl tick, and be able to get them started earlier. Being level headed
And not getting flustered is usually a good thing, but it gives off a sense to the fans sometimes that they don't care or they are not focused on the task at hand.
This team obviously has talent and past performance history tells me they will
Be fine. There is a learning curve when you change coaches, given time, the
BEARS MADE OF SUGAR will rise to the top...I have no doubt.
