Duever a solid 16/8.......a game of little things.....baiscally made 2 fewer FGs and did not get to the line as much....TOs and rebounds pretty even.....

Incarnate Word and Abilene Christian next week....

UIW 19-21=40 (1-2/7-8)

Duever 14/9 and Mullins 14/3...Prroffit added 9 and Sadler another 6....

Bears 51% FGs and only 58% FTs....9 blocks and 9 steals...great job on defense....held UIW to only 27% FGs....

Good road win in a game that they shouod have won and did....next up is Abilene Christian on the road this Saturday....

Duever a 15/14 DD.....Mullins added 25 points and McClure 11....both impressive on the road...)% for 3s but 85% FTs...10 more FTs made than ACU.......TOs too high at 17 but ACU also had 17.......41-23 reb advantage...generally reb well and shoot FTs well on road and win....

Good road win....congrats to SBs....

Big homegames next week with Northwestern State and SFA.....nice to be at the top of SLC.....

UCA 27-46=73 (4-1/10-6)....SLC leader

Mullins leads SB at 23/6 with Duever putting up another DD at 19/10.....Profitt and Rice each add 11.....Lady Demon Trudy Armstead shot a cool 57% to tally 29 .....

Important win over a team tied with before the game....winning these games at home are key....

SBs shot well at 48% for FGs, 46% for 3s adn 81% FTs,,,usally win those type games....SBs got to the line 26 times and held NWS to only 15 ....the additonal 9 FTs made was most of the score difference....NWS shot well also...neither team had more than 10 TOs...slow H1 but SBs put away in H2......excellent win...

SFA on Satuday another big game....

Let's enjoy being in first place for about another 20 hours then get ready to defend our top spot.....

SFA is the biggest test so far in SLC play...they are 4-2/10-8 and with a win move into first with UCA....this should be a hard fought game ....both teams avg scoring 65 and are 1-2 in SLC at 57 in points allowed...UCA has been to the FT line 126 times shooting 75% and SFA 129 times hitting 77%....SBs have an edge in FG % at 45% to 38% but SFA has advantage in FG defense at 37% to 40%.....both shoot about 26% for 3s but SFA shoots twice as many per game....SFA has an edge here in that UCA gives up 35% 3s while SFA only 26%....SFA out rebounds 45/31 while UCA does 37/27....they are 1-2 in reb margin.....SFA leads SLC at 16 O-rebs while UCA at only 11.....Duever avgs 17/11 while SFA's Porsha Roberts is at 16/8....

Lady Jacks have not lost games they woud be expcted to win but did lose to NWS on road by 66-54......they lost three road games early to SMU by 12, TCU by 8 and ULM by 2...but lost at home to Stetson by 7....they have road wins over Arizona (at Tucson) by 4 and TAMCC by 7....

So far so good...a battle as expected....SBs hitting 67% from 3 and 83% FTs....only 5/22 for 2s....and lead a bit in TOs by 5 to 8...Profitt has 11 and Duever 8....

Need another good half.....a bit better FG shooting and not rely so much on 3s....keep getting the FT line....Go SugarBears!!

Awesome defense in H2...SBs 31-7 advantage in H2......Duever really taking charge.....SBs +7 on TOs, +4 rebs, +12 assists, +8 Fts and shooting 50%+ FGs in H2....

UCA 32-33=65 (6-1/12-6) ...still at the top

Duever 25/11 and Mullins 8/6/6......SFA had 20 PIP in H1 and only 8 in H2....SBs won amost every category of stats.....+6 FGs, +9 FTs, +5 rebs, +11 assists, +5 TOs..... first time I have heard Caoch really sound pelased with a performance.

Savor this and get ready for a tough matchup Thursday in Lake Charles vs McNeese.....
