Four in double figures....not a good shooting night but 13/17 FTs solid....now ACU on Sat for SLC opener......

Just saw on ucasports.com that the womens game at Abilene Christian has been pushed back to Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. due to icy road conditions. Mens game will start at 3 p.m. .

SLC Opener at ACU today...

Hang on for 66-60 win...not pretty last minute with a miissed layup, a TO on the inbounds and letting ACU shoot a 3....but got it done for first SLC win of season....

Outshot ACU 44-40% for FGs and 46-25% for 3s and 69-54% for FTs.....also got 10 O-rebs....TOs even at 15....Big H2 for Proffitt who leads with 22 and Mullins added 18.....

SBs extended lead to 49-39 with 10 minutes to go.....

SBs lead at half by 29-28...Mullins has 10.....

Up by 10 in H1 then let TAMCC get back in...then Islanders go up 7 in H2 but SBs fight back and hit 7/8 FTs in last minute to seal the win......good work to defend home court in spite of mediocre shooting from the field but 21/28 from FT.....TAMCC was +8 on o-rebs whch is troubling but SBs were +10 on TOs which led to 19 points...McClure led with 18.....

SFA is 6-7 from 3 and leads UCA 31-14 with 5:30 to go in the first. Not looking good for the Sugarbears. I guess 3 games in 5 days is too much right now!

So much for our league leading defense...apparently not against the 3! They are 8-10 and lead us 47-23 at the half!

Play better D, make SFA work for everything and try to get back into the game..get fouls....and get SFA in foul trouble....still a half to play...

SFA wins 73-46

Well that was ugly......get outshot 52-35% you normally lose especially if other team hits 10-12 from 3......add <7> for TOs which led to <16> point margin...at least SBs played much better defense in H2 and outrebounded SFA for the game...Watts led SBs with 12 and McClure added 11......Branch for SFA was 5/5 on 3s and led all scorers with 23....that is an all-SLC level game....
