ACU is 8-2 with wins over Wayland Baptist, UTSA, University of the Southwest, Missouri Valley College, Grand Canyon University, Eastern Michigan, Idaho........plays Schreiner on Thursday..............

Losses to Kansas State by 29 and Texas Tech by 14......

Should be a good matchup......SBs need to come out playing well and get a solid win............

SBs win over Jarvis Christian by 77-23 to go to 10-1...............stats look like it was shoot around.....gets a lot tougher on Sat vs ACU....Go SBs......

Good to get any W, but I'm not sure how a 50 pt blowout like this against a non-D1 team is even a good rust-buster game just prior to SLC play.

SBs fall to ACU by 61-49 after trailing only 23-22 at half...........0 of 12 for 3s...

Coach was most unhappy with level of effort.......

"I saw our starters quit tonight," Rushing said. "That's the only thing I can say. Some of our people that were in there quit. And if they want to use fatigue … they went home for six days over Christmas, and some admitted they did nothing. When you admit that to the head coach, it's my responsibility to get it right."

Now they hit the road for TAMCC and SFA............ unless they play better than today they could well be 0-3 this time next week...........

Immediate solution seems pretty easy -- not starters anymore.

I wasn't in town Saturday so I can't comment on the game, however, it is never good when you are scheduling the likes of Jarvis Christian, Alcorn, Crowley's Ridge and Central Baptist. Wins like this accomplish nothing.

Correct me if I am wrong people, but didn't we make the move to Division I ?

At the very least those who did not work out over the holidays (not acceptable) need to stay home next week and work out 2x each day on their own............maybe 100 FTs and 100 jump shots each day PLUS 2-3 miles running plus line drills for 20 minutes............we have a very good track to run around......it will be a little chilly...........

I can see playing CBC and Hendrix as exhibitions for a variety of reasons and even a good D2 team for an early game........Alcorn is D1.........the UTK game was good benchmark.........

Thanks for correcting me on Alcorn JRK....I would tend to agree with you on CBC and Hendrix as exhibitions. Other than Tennessee, I just felt like it was one of the weaker non-conference schedules that we have had in a while.

Also, you are right about working out...it appears that it did not happen during the holidays and yes that is not acceptable. Hope they can get it turned around.

We will see how it turned out this evening at 5:30 down in Corpus Christi! I sure hope that Coach put the fear into them and they come out on fire!

Something got their attention as SBs polish off Islanders 66-55 tonight.........move to 11-2/1-1............TAMCC falls to 3-8/0-1.......led 37-21 at half then "cruised" (ie, let it get too close for comfort before pulling it out) ............Maggie plays all 40 and scores 15 on 40% FGs........Watts adds 14 and Mullins 17 with 6 rebs........Watkins also was 5/6 and Logan was 4/5.......team shoots 45% FGs, 50% 3s and 78 FTs (18/23 and +12).....still sloppy with 19 TOs but TAMCC had same..........

Looks like Coach got their attention...nice 11 point win, but way too many turnovers. Time to move on to SFA.

At SFA right now. At that half the Lady Jacks lead the Sugarbears 23-22. Both teams pretty even.
