If we had a Meagan Herbert or Courtney Duever who could just dominate inside it would make a huge difference...……..we are a guard and forward team right now that is not very good from 3...….. going to have to have others step up and get 5-6 points per game...…..excellent defense and somehow have to get more points off defense play...……..Coach has a challenge getting the pieces in right place for each game...……..still...…..slip into the tourney and see what happens...…..Go SugarBears!!

NWS@UCA

NWS 11-13=24-19=43-9=52 (2-7)
UCA 17-12=29-21=50-24=74 (3-7)

NWS/UCA

FGs: 35% v 39%
3s: 33% v 29%
FTs: 37% v 81% ….SBs +9 made
Rebs: 23 v 49....wow.....26 were o-rebs
TOs: 15 v 16......25 POTO

Had to miss the most of the last half....looks like SBs stepped up offense and put the hammer down on defense in Q4...…Orr 26/4/3A/5S.....Fisher a 13/13 double double......Canady 13/8.....

Q2: Demons had another 9-2 run to close the gap but SBs held tough rebounding and defense to edge back out a bit......neither team shooting great...…..35% SBs v 32%....NWS has 7 made FTs and SBs only have had 4 attempts……... UCA 13 rebs and +6 o-rebs…+14 POTO...…Orr 9/4S....Fisher excellent 5/7...…..Canady also has 5......Langhi and Johnson each have 4 rebs……

Q1: Demons took 9-2 lead then SBs woke up and finished with a 15-2 run...…..11 rebs in total and 6 o-rebs but the steals is what sparked the offense....44% FGs but really about 70% after a very poor start.........Orr with 6 and 5 others have scored.....

Coach Long on the radio show tonight as Coach Rushing a game on the road recruiting...….you can tell he really likes working with the team...…….

What current SugarBear's father was All-SEC, SEC POY and a decade of professional basketball after being drafted by Mavs? She also avg 18+ points in high school and 9 rebs…….has height to be a Megan Herbert and Courtney Duever player...………

Kudos to SB Alanie Fisher from Red Stick, LA majoring in health education and plans to go for MBA in health management.....sounds like a level headed head young lady....oh yeah, she led crashing the boards last Sat with a 13/13 double double....

Need to wrap up home stand vs SLU on Saturday with a win...…….Go SugarBears!!

SLU@UCA

SLU 10-4-9-10=33 (3-7)
UCA 28-17-15-15=75 (4-6)

SLU/UCA
FGs: 28% v 49%
3s: 14% v 42%
FTs: 60% v 75% ...SBs 24/32 and +18
Rebs: 33 v 32
TOs: 23 v 9

So shoot well, play good defense, get to the line a lot and low TOs usually means a win......they were certainly motivated today............45-14 at half......Orr leads SBs with 23/3/3A/1S with 64% FGs.......Canady a solid 13/6.........Bozic 11/2/3A.....Fisher and Langhi a nice 8/5 and 8/6

Next off to HBU for a Wed night game then back a week later to Farris for game with McNeese.......Go SugarBears!!

Watching that game last night all I could think of was "how in the world are they getting so many offensive rebounds AND some of them AFTER a FREE THROW!"

Seriously?!

Block out and rebound.

McNeese would not have scored 30 had we done that.

I noticed we only had 10 players dress out. I didn't see the Conway girl playing either unless I missed her. Sells was not dressed out either.

Glad we won though. Keep it up Sugar Bears! =D>

UCA@Nicholls

UCA 7-16-12-17= 52 (6-8)
NSU 15-15-20-18=68 (10-4)

Colonels too much offense in Q3/Q4....NSU +14 on made FTs......pretty ,much the difference......Orr led with 12/3/4A/3S while Fisher went 7/10/1A/3S but had 5TOs and fouled out. Colonels had 4 in double figures.

Back on road next at SFA......not any easier.

@SFA

UCA 5-11=16-13=29-14=43
SFA 20-11=31-20=51-28=79

Coach not happy…...not putting pressure on the ball...…….did not play with heart….embarrassing and unacceptable...….Goodner had 13/5...Langhi scored 11...….Fisher had 13 rebs…...

Q3: Hill got much steeper...……….Fisher has 11 rebs and Goodner now leads UCA scoring at 8...…..Jacks have three in double figures...…..

H1: Well, at least did not start the game down 25-1...…….held our own in Q2 but at least scored more...….29% FGs vs 50%...…..0% 3s vs 31%...…….50% FTs vs 71%......out rebounded 18 v 12...….Fisher leads with a nice 5/4 game...……..Orr scoreless...….
