Not sure stats mean much...........Taylor Sells was 11/11........+27 rebounds......SBs still had 17 TOs.....62% FTs on 13 tries.....yet 67% for 3s
then again <40% for 2 pt FGs...…...needed a win of any kind after A&M ………

Now to Kansas State for Thursday 7pm tip......looking for a spirited effort this trip...….Wildcats will be a handful...…...Go SugarBears!!

UCA/KSU

FGs: 37% v 44%
3s: 50% v 42%
FTs: 92% v 75%
Rebs: 29 v 34
TOs: 18 v 17

"I'm really pleased with our effort – we were just outmatched," said Central Arkansas head coach Sandra Rushing. "I'm proud, I'm happy with this – not with the score, but with the way we fought. We missed so many assignments tonight, but we were going hard. I'm really happy with the way we came out, and we had certain units that played well, but we made a lot of mental mistakes and we've got to clean that up."

Kamry Orr had a productive game with 9/9 and 2As, 1B and 2 steals........the 5 TOs did not help.........Canady went 14/3.......Sells had 12.........much better outing that at Waco.........another game we were in xcept for one stretch......just got to be better in stopping runs.........

Next is NYEs at Farris vs TAMCC to open SLC play...Go SugarBears!!

TAMCC

TAMCC 20-9-16-28=73
UCA 15-15-22-13=65

SBs had 10 more TOs and Islanders were +17 on POTO.....lost large lead in Q3........Kamry Orr had a terrific game with 37/9/12 with 9Bs and 2S..........could not slow down TAMCC's Daleshia Booth who had 33..............

Got to get playing better quick with big road trip coming up..........

Attended the game.

Players stood around on offense.

When they got trapped bringing the ball up court they stood around watching the trap.

Why were they afraid to shoot?

On defense they didn't block out after the shot.

What is going on?!

Overheard coach say basically the same things. Don't they want to play? We should have beaten that team by double digits.

Time to step up ladies. Fans deserve better. Even if you lose if we see the effort we will be happy.

@SLU

UCA 13-7-13-20=53 (0-2/5-7)
SLU 10-18-10-24=62 (1-1/6-7)

UCA/SLU

FGs: 33% v 37%
3s: 27% v 41%
FTs: 93% v71%
Rebs: 38 v 36.......shoot poorly and get ots of rebs
TOs: 14 v 11

Struggled after Q1 and got down by 11 in early Q4 then fought back to tie and still trailed by only 2 with 2:11 to go.........could not get the next shot to fall.....

Bingham had a nice 14/7 game with 71% FGs and 100% FTs...no one else in double figures........Bojic was 2/3 for 3s........Orr was poorly 2/15 from field ...ouch..SBs shot 40% without Orr's shots......

Got to get going before season gets away.........at Sam on Wed and at Lamar on Sat..... be good to get Hicks back from injury for these.......Go SugarBears!!

@Sam Houston

UCA 9-11=20-22=42-20=62
SHS 17-16=33-12=45-21=66

UCA/SHS

FGs: 45% v 35%
3s: 44% v 22%
FTs: 40% v 70%......Kats +30 made!!!!!! Made 10 more than we shot...
Rebs: 31 v 42
TOs: 19 v 17

Great effort to come back and take lead at 56-55 with 2:04 left then fell behind and Kats were shooting FTs.....Hicks come back to line up goes 17/8/3....Sells with 15 and Orr at 13......
**********
Came out hot in Q3 and got back in the game...…….now for a solid Q4 for the win.....Mekaylyn Hicks back in lineup and has 13 so far...
*******
Rough H1...…….being outrebounded...….Sam +7 on POTOs...…….Sam +7 on FTs...SBs have hit no 3s......at least hitting 40% 2pt FGs.....trail 33-20......

@Lamar (3-0 in SLC)

UCA 16-4=20-10=30-7=37 (0-4)
LU 10-10=20-21=41-16=57 (4-0)

UCA/LU

FGs: 32% v 35%
3s: 20% v 35%
FTs: 100% vs 64%
Rebs: 31 v 35...……..Cards +7 o-rebs and +12 2nd chance
TOs: 29 v 16...…….Cards +13 POTO

Not only did we lose the rebs but also gave them extra shots with TOs....still held them way below avg score........just could not score much...…..LU made 10 3s and we made 10 2s...….Kamry Orr had a 20/7/4 steals day but had 10 TOs....in fairness to her LU forces something like 26 TOs per game and she had to bear the brunt of their defenses as she was our only scoring threat today.....hicks played all 40 with 8 rebs but had zero points…….

Q4: Not any better....SBs held to only 37...…….hold LU to 30 under their avg....

Q3: Wheels came off the defense and Cards got rolling.......

Q2: That was ugly....SBs now have 16 TOs...…….yes, 16......33% FGs vs 22% but each team has 7 made..... Lamar is +5 on o-rebs and 6-0 on 2nd chance points...total rebs edge to UCA at 20-19...…...Orr leads with 15 points md had all the SBs points in Q2...….holding LU to half their avg scoring...…..

Q1: Shaky start giving up a 7-1 o-reb advantage and 5-0 2nd chance.....then settled in with Kamry Orr scoring 11 points on 3/4 FGs and 4/4 FTs....got to keep up the intensity of the last 6-7 minutes..........Cards only shooting 21% FGs......

Who thought after four games we and McNeese would be winless? When you are on the bottom then no matter who play next you is higher up...…….arguably we should be 2-2 or even 3-1....good to have both games this week at home with IWU on Wed and Nicholls on Sat....played very good defense vs Lamar but could not get much scoring...….both games this week are very winnable but have to have more consistent scoring...………..

Lamar 4-0 11-4
Stephen F. Austin 3-0 12-3
Abilene Christian 3-1 10-5
Nicholls 3-1 9-7
A&M-Corpus Christi 2-1 8-6
Sam Houston State 2-1 7-6
Southeastern La. 2-1 7-7
Houston Baptist 1-2 6-7
Incarnate Word 1-2 1-13
Northwestern State 1-3 6-9
New Orleans 1-3 5-8
Central Arkansas 0-4 5-9
McNeese 0-4 2-13

IWU/UCA

FGs: 35% vs 47%
3s: 20% v 42%......8 made 3s
FTs: 67% v 63%
Rebs: 26 v 39...…+9 o-rebs
TOs: 21 v 12....+18 POTO

Q4: Good to get a win...…….pretty dominating all night...…..+16 PIP...Orr excellent night with 20/6/4 and 2 steals......and only 2 TOs.....Langhi very strong 16/8.....Goodner added 10.....7 others scored...

Q3: Got a little sloppy and out of sync early then got back some late in the Q

Q2: That went fast...…..dropped off to 43% FGs but hit 3/8 from 3.....+10 rebs for the half...…forced 12 TOs....+19 on number of shots...……Orr clicking with 17/4/4....Langhi has 10 and Fisher has 6 rebs….

Q1: Much better start...…..47% FGs but no 3s...……..+6 rebs…….have forced 8 TOs and committed only 2...…….+14 PIP....Orr and Langhi each have 6...….

It's nice to get a win...even if it is over a team with only one win. Hopefully this builds some confidence as they move forward!

Nicholls State @ Farris Center

NSU 13-14-14-23=64 (4-2)
UCA 14-13-15-18=60 (1-5)

NSU/UCA

FGs: 42% 39% ……. SBs +4 on FGs made
3s: 57% v 27% ….SBs +2 on made 3s
FTs: 85% v 62% …..Nicholls made 22 and we only shot 13
Rebs: 33 v 34
TOs: 18 v 17

Very even game except for FTs..... tough loss at home for SBs and the hole gets deeper...….Orr 14/4...….Sells and Bojic each added 13......Hicks a solid 9/6 game...

UCA@UNO

UCA 16-17=33-17=50-12=62 (2-5)
UNO 8-20=28-15=43-17=60 (1-6)

UCA/UNO

FGs: 46% v 42%
3s: 33% v 39%
FTs: 77% v 75%
Rebs: 31 v 27
TOs: 20 v 18...way too many...…..at least +9 POTO

Just like for Bears tonight just could not put it away and had to hang on late.... good road win....Orr takes charge late for 20/4/3S might......Langhi strong with 11/10 double double with 2S and 1B......Johnson added an important 8 in 11 minutes....7 others scored......A DoubleBears night as both teams won......Go SugarBears!!

Q3: Trying to edge away......tough play on both sides......Langhi now leads SBs with 11....

H1: Very even stats...….each has 3 3s...SBs +2 on FGs and +1 on FTs...…..big difference is SBs score 16 on POTO on 12 UNO TOs...…..UNO has only scored only 5 on 10 UCA TOs...…..Orr leads with 8 and Bojic has 6...…..much like the men's game at Conway tonight SBs led by 10 early (18-8) then UNO crept back to get within one...

Q1: Shooting FGs over 50% and holding UNO to less than 30%.....good formula

ACU 20-17-11-29=77 (6-2)

Shot well...……..49% FGs and 93% FTs...…...only 11 TOs...….but out rebounded 34-23...….ACU was +14 2nd chance points....pretty much the game..... doubt we will win many giving up 70+ points...….trail by 14 late in Q2...…….tough position against a good team...….Orr scores 24 with 5As...…..Sells 15 and Hicks 10...Langhi another good blue collar game with 8 points and 9 rebs…..good comeback attempt...…..Go SugarBears!!

SFA@UCA

SFA 10-19=29-11=40-19=59 (7-0)
UCA 11-9=20-14=34-19=53 (2-7)

SFA/UCA

FG%: 43% v 34%
3%: 10% v 21%
FT%: 57% v 57% …..SFA +4 made
Rebs: 41 v 38
TOs: 16 v 15

Q4: Valiant effort to comeback and make it a one shot game but just not enough left......SFA +18 PIP......SBs +8 POTO.....had our chances to win this one with +8 FGAs.....Orr and Langhi each had 15...

Q3: Got some back......lots of defense ….still no 3s...…..Orr with 12 and Langhi 10...

Q2: SFA ended half with 10-2 run to stretch the lead....that took their FG% to 48 vs only 31% for SBs...….no 3s by either team...…..SFA +16 PIP.....Orr and Langhi each have 8.....

Q1: Hard fought quarter...….SBs has had the lead most of the way but have not been able to shake LJs...….both teams FG% under 40%...…..only two SBs have scored as Langhi leads with 6 and Orr with 5....only a combined 22 FGAs.....

Our lack of scorers really showed against the Ladyjacks. Too many of our Sugar Bears that are on the court for defense or ball handling only
