I just saw that we had been picked last in the Eastern Division of the SLC by both the coaches and SID's. (Men's team).

Maybe we should just call off the season now.

Nowhere to go but up in conference play :!: Playing the role of spoiler and beating teams that you're not suppose to beat always makes the coaching look good. I'm sure Rand will have a couple of old tricks up his sleeve and hopefully cause a few headaches in conference play.

Children...children...it is not how one starts, but how one finishes.

In my opinion, it is always better to overachieve than to underachieve!!

That is pretty standard for teams that are moving up to D-1. It's just hard to tell how they will handle the new level. No slight to UCA; probably just a lack of information.

there will be lots of conference action for us to see in conway in the second half of the season. i just wish i could go see the bears play uconn, ole miss, etc. in novmeber and december.

looking forward to basketball season. believe it or not, it was during the 2000-2001 season that the bear den came to fruition in the farris center. i know their presence has dropped off a bit for roundball season, but i'm hoping the farris center will rock this winter like it does when the student activities board has their spring concerts in there. 3.5K+ strong for a game would be great to see...

The Sugar Bears have been picked last in the Eastern Division by both the coaches and SID's heading into their first season in Division 1 and in the SLC.

On a serious note, I do understand why we would be picked last in both polls for men and women.

However, I will be very, very surprised if either our men or women finish last in the division. Hopefully being realistic, I pick our men and women to both finish around 3rd or 4th.

I think it is natural we have been picked last, maybe it isnt. But I can see where it would be easy to pick our teams last considering we are moving up completely to D1 from D2, and the probablility that most, if not all, of the SID's and coaches probably have no idea about us or what to expect from either of our teams. Like you said 75, I don't think either one of our teams will finish last, but I can see where these 2 groups are coming from in the voting process.

I would be happy with those results!
