This assistant coach has definitely changed an attitude with this basketball team. All the games have been kept close for the most part. I think with most of these games, and remaining big non conference games, we are just going to run out of gas towards the end. Our starters are solid, we just don't quite have the depth currently on the bench. Excited for this team though!

I saw that with this team too!

Fayetteville was subbing in the first half and it seemed we needed to give our guys a break. We only trailed by 8 with about 9 minutes to go! If there are any recruits that can start out giving depth then transition to starting spots then I bet we will win some big games and turn this program around. So who wants to be part of it?!

How is it possible to get a division one basketball scholarship when you can’t dribble
It’s like watching junior high girls play

UCA @ Ole Miss

UCA 23-31=54
UM 35-33=68

UCA/UM

FGs: 35% vs 34%...Ole Miss was +17 on # of attempts
3s: 25% vs 23%..each team made 4
FTs: 16/21/76% vs 20/26/77%
Rebs: 7/32/39 vs 16/27/43
TOs: 22 vs 10

Bergerson got 14 well earned points and had 3/3 Rebs/As.....Oloworkere had a solid 9/4....Kayouloud went 8/7/1 after having to play point for the last 15 minutes after Jones fouled out (D-Andre had at least 2 very marginal fouls which should not be called in D1 games in my view)....Chatham 7/5/1 but also led with 5 TOs....Shittu had 7 rebs....

The officials had their whistles tonight as there were lots of picky touch fouls which affected the offense of both teams........

I was able to watch most of the game and thought we looked tired and like we had not practiced much in a week...which we have not due to schedule changes....Bears fought pretty good on the boards but gave up too many o-rebs as Ole Miss had a stretch where they just gobbled up -o-rebs.....shot FTs well.......shot 3s poorly ...Ole Miss got after our perimeter shooters pretty well...

Played much better in H2 in general but not where we need to be.....3 point shooting pretty weak and a lot of shots hit the rim like their arms were tired......

Hats off to Bergerson who never quit trying to get open and score and to Kayouloud for playing pretty good point while trying to come form behind on the scoreboard....

Hoping for more energy at Starkville.........Go Bears!!

And for clarification I was referring to
both teams...One of the sloppiest games
I have seen. Like a pickup game down the street

The money from these money games better not go to other sports. The Men's Basketball team is putting in their dues.

Nope. Haha, it was just a pipe dream. If we could only make as much money off women's sports and less watched men's sports. Maybe one day.

I am not going to keep beating that dead horse on mens basketball money games paying the bills for the minor sports, however, I did find it interesting a few days ago when a friend in the athletic department told me that UCA actually made more money for its womens game against UA-Fayetteville than on the mens game. Sorry, I do not have the figures, but I did find that interesting.

That is interesting. Thanks for bringing up that point. I hope that this could be a possibility in the future. As a person who has analyzed sports revenue on the men's and women's sports I don't have a perfect answer. All I can say is, if you put a good product on the floor, people will buy tickets. This goes for men's and women's sports.

UCA @ Mississippi State

UCA 35-30=65
MSU 39-42=81

UCA/MSU:

FGs: 39% vs 48%..each had 61 shots
3s: 39% vs 48%....State had +3 made
FTs: 10/12/83% vs 13/19/68%
Rebs: 11/22/33 vs 13/28/41
TOs: 11 v 11

Did not get to watch.....looks like difference was 3s......and a few more FTs.....and State was +9 2nd chance points.....best Bears TO in a while.....excellent FT shooting...just need to get to line more....Bears +3 assists

Kayouloud led with a fine 20/6 game in only 26 minutes.....Bergerson another good scoring game at 15...Jones a solid 10/3/4A but 6 TOs....Shittu 4/6.....George got on the scoring board with a 6/4 night....shot about 50% in H1 and fell off to 33% in H2....

Seemed to fell off about 15 minutes to go and could not get another run to close the gap further.....

Hard to win road games vs SEC teams....some good SEC teams end up 9-9 with only 1-2 road wins....

Back home next on 12/19 at 2pm for Champion Christian of Hot Springs..........looks like an exhibition game.....they are 2-0 with home wins over Bacone 94-73 and Ecclesia by 67-65....looks like playing UALR the night before on ESPN+???? After UCA, CC then plays at A-State and 2 at McNeese....let's hope we use this game to work on our offense and ball handling and not get into street ball....

After CC then at #2 Baylor on 12/29 before SLC opener on 1/2 at McNeese....

Go Bears!!

I really liked the way the Bears played in the first half...kept it close and was really in striking distance. Second half...the effort was there, but couldn't get a shot to fall.

I really believe we are seeing an effort with our guys that we have not seen in a long while. Looks like they are buying in to what Coach Boone is teaching. Just keep hanging with them.

Regarding the next game with Champions Christian....I just wish we would not schedule games like this.
