Is anyone else hopefull for this season to see so many new faces? Seems like we are stacking the Bear Den pretty good so far. Curious to see what development looks like.

Will wait and see…
History says they will be 500
at best.

I really want to feel good about next season, but I guess I will go out on a limb
and say I am extremely cautiously optimistic.

On paper, it looks like they have added some good players, but then one must
develop chemistry and that takes some time.

Hope they win them all, but let’s wait and see.

Corliss literally ran the program into the ground.
It wasn’t a good program by any measure, but
I think it was decent and fairly competitive.

Not going to the sweet 16…but not getting hammered by 40 on a regular basis.

Hopefully they will be better next season.

Ditto Beau......15-15 would be better than recent past but 18-12 would mark a good improvement.....

I agree with most on here. I am cautiously optimistic about this upcoming season (or at least the directions of the program as a whole).
I agree with FOOT, Corliss left this program with nothing. He completely ruined any chance the program had to build itself up and we had to start from scratch.

Let's back up maybe and start from square one. Is this possibly the best class coming in for the 2023-2024 season say in the past 10 years?

Current 2023-2024 roster at link above. We have seen what the core returners can do. The NLR fellow via Bowling Green is an unknown as is the graduate tranfer from West Florida. I do not rely much on true freshmen just because they have so much to get acclimated to.

I did see Tucker Anderson the 6'9 FR from Bentonville West play in the 6A State tourney....he has skills and is versatile....shoots inside and 3s well...solid from FTs.....rebounds and can handle ball well...got his 18-20 points no matter what the other team did to try to stop him...probably needs to add some muscle and bulk up a little...pretty good defender also....

I think we have enough Non-Conference tests to see how well our team will be by end of December.

Unless we just get some under the radar type talents and a few more mid major games (instead of Top 25 match ups each year), it will be a continued struggle for these men.

Looks like another long season
shaping up for the Bears…
Hopefully they can get wins
over Hendrix & UAPB.

16 point lead at half over a local school who doesn’t offer scholarships. I’m beginning to think you are right. They are taking care of business the second half so far, but the play in the first half won’t win us many conference games.

Watching the Bears playing confused ball. UAPB got a layup after our defenders ran into each other in slow motion. Sigh.

While UAPB Basketball is on the rise. Respectfully, we need life. We need an injection of energy in the UCA Basketball Program. Should we go put basketballs in the AD's front yard?
