Anybody have an idea when we will get to schedule these two schools?

I think the fans from all of our Arkansas D1 schools deserve in state rivalry games over these match ups.

UCA - Ecclesia, Rhema
ASU - MacMurray, CBC
UALR - U. of Ozarks, John Brown
UAPB - Philander Smith (2x)
UA - Wofford, Delaware St., UTSA, Northwestern St., Appalachian St., ULM

Those are all in-state rivalries! Personally, I'm anxiously awaiting the day we get a holiday tournament of UCA, Lyon, Williams Baptist and Arkansas Baptist. That just has excreme ... err ... excitement written all over it.

Those were exhibitions. ASU played Hendrix and Lyon in exhibitions. UALR played D2 Cameron(OK).

Give ASU some credit for playing 2 out of 3 schools from Conway this year! Neither of them happen to be D1 though.

I think these games will come in the next few years with ualr and a state.

uca would probably be on ualr or a state schedule this year if they would play for money on the road or open on the road. uca is not in a place to name it's own terms, yet.

ualr will not have many dates over the next few years because of all the home and homes already signed:

Loyola Marymont (home and home)
Pepperdine (home and home)
N. Ill (home and home)
Rice (home and home)
Creighton (2 for 1)
La Tech (3 for 2 with uarl getting three home games)
Centenary (will probably re-up after this year)
Tulsa (will probably re-up after this year)
Mo State (4 year home and home starting next season)

Games with John Brown, Ozarks, etc do not cost more than 10k and this is why mid-majors schedule a few tune-ups to start the season. I think for uca to get ualr or a state on the schedule they would have to agree to a 2 for 1.

Most mid-majors have to take a couple of money games a year to collect enough money to buy a few games for their home schedule. You guys play KU, Tulsa, etc will probably end up paying about 100k to uca. uca, in turn, goes out and buys a few games at home with the money.

Now, get a state and ualr to play you home and home and uca can drop a couple of bcs type teams off the schedule and the losses that go with playing the bcs schools. uca swings from 13-15 to 15 - 13. uca goes from a lossing season to a winning one.

I can assure you that UALR fans would LOVE to see an immediate beginning to a series with UCA. It would be great for the basketball fans in central Arkansas. No idea why it didn't happen, but it definitely was not because UALR fans didn't want it.

I don't think it is the fans fault at any of these schools. I believe all of the administrators need to find a way to make these games happen.

I doubt seriously if the coaches, athletes or fans at any school shy away from competition.....however, the "management" another issue.....

Speaking from the UALR fan's perspective, it is really stupid that the four non-fayetteville schools do not milk the basketball rivalries for all they are worth. Play every year.

It's all Frank Broyles' fault. His ways have been in place so long, it's hard to change. Funny how U of A policy has become other schools in AR policy as well to some degree.
