Not sure why they are allowed two sub-Div I games. SBC rules prohibit it unless the schools are rivals -- guessing Lyon and Central Baptist are in-state schools...

Yes, Lyon and Central Baptist are instate schools and therefore considered "rivals" I guess! :lol:

LOL, they are in-state but there is no way you can stretch them into "Rivals" of ASU. ASU fans will have a hemorage when they read this.

That is why they are "rivals" (not real rivals), but according to TT they shouldn't able to schedule that many sub DI games unless they are rivals so for ASU's purposes they must be selling the instate rivalry slant..

The official rule from the Sun Belt is that, "Schools must play all games against Division I opponents; exceptions for a game played at home may be granted by the conference office. Note: Contracts dated prior to May 31, 2007, will be honored."

The conference office does allow schools to play rivals, who may be sub-Division I. I believe New Orleans has played cross-town rival Loyola the last two years.
