$150k guarantee is solid for a tournament.

Probably one of those where the "marquee" names get most of the home games and the mid-majors each get a home game apiece.

Great job Bears!

Tigers To Face Kansas In November

Quote:
This year’s Showcase has been modified into a round-robin event, as the four teams (Memphis, Kansas, Louisville, Arkansas) host three home games against other opponents in November. The three other foes on the Memphis-Kansas side are Central Arkansas, Oakland and Tennessee Tech, while on the Louisville-Arkansas slate, the other opponents are Appalachian State, East Tennessee State and Morgan State.
Dates for Memphis’ other Showcase home games are to be announced at a later time.

HMMM...I wonder why we weren't on the other side of the bracket?!  Which is fine by me b/c I know where I'll be that evening in November!

Don't get no better than basketball at The Phog.....better come to play ball. Should be a thrill of a lifetime for the players. Maybe J-hawks will be flat after road trip to St Lou to play the Memphis Tigerthugs....

The Jayhawks are likely going to be preseason favorites to win it all by some. They are going to have to be dead, not just flat.

We don't want them dead, but maybe they can play with only 2 players... :?

I'm just hoping they are flat so we can stay within about 50. I suggest falling behind big very quyckly so they play their bench and we burn the clock with four corners then end with a run.

BEARS FACE NATION IN 2009-10

CONWAY, Ark _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears have played basketball games at Connecticut, at Kentucky and at Vanderbilt in their first three seasons at the NCAA Division I level. All of those games may pale in comparison to what they will be facing this season.

The Bears will play the University of Kansas in storied Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan. on Nov. 19. The Jayhawks are the consensus pick of most experts to be the No. 1 team in the nation in 2009-10. Five days later, UCA will face another powerhouse in the University of Memphis at the FedExForum on Nov. 24. The Tigers played in the national championship game two years ago.

Well not a very impressive OOC Home slate, but hopefully we should be able to win them all...as for the road games, that is a completely different animal!

What on earth do you mean? This isn't impressive enough?

Hendrix - D3
Tennessee Tech - D1
Western Illinois - D1 (finished 12-18 last year)
Harris-Stowe - NAIA
Central Methodist - NAIA
