Marcus Pillow, the career leader in three-pointers at Central Arkansas, is transferring to Arkansas Tech for his senior year. Pillow, a Russellville native, spent the previous three seasons playing for Central Arkansas, where he made 206 career three-pointers and averaged 11.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists. His transfer was announced in a news release sent out by Arkansas Tech, and he is no longer listed on the roster on UCA’s Web site. The release did not say why Pillow was transferring. Last season as a starter in all 29 games, Pillow, a 6-0 guard, led UCA in scoring with 11.8 points per game. He also led the team in three-pointers (69), steals (28) and assists (76) and shot 34 percent from three-point range to earn honorable mention All-Southland Conference honors. His 1,050 career points rank sixth-best in school history. He holds the school record for three-pointers attempted (618) and set a school single-game record by making nine three-pointers against Texas-Arlington. Pillow is the third all-time leading scorer at Russellville High School. Arkansas Tech also announced the signing of former Dardanelle guard Kendall Pickney, a two-time all-state selection1. Pickney, 6-0, averaged 19.5 points, 7.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game as a senior, leading Dardanelle to a 30-1 record.
