Sheppard Named Southland Men's Basketball Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Central Arkansas forward Tadre Sheppard has been named the Southland Conference men's basketball player of the week, the league office announced Monday.
Sheppard scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds in the Bears' 81-71 victory at Tennessee-Martin on Saturday. The junior from Lubbock, Texas (Estacado), hit his first 3-point attempt of the season and blocked two shots. Central Arkansas' win over the Skyhawks was the third consecutive victory for the team and all of those have been on the road. Sheppard, who has two double-doubles this season, is averaging 10.7 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game for the Bears. He is averaging 14.8 points and 9.0 rebounds in Central Arkansas' last four games. The Bears have a 4-5 record.
