Central Arkansas guard transferring to Southern IndianaQuote:
The University of Southern Indiana has inked another recruit to this year's class, a Division I transfer from Central Arkansas.
Guard Jared Rehmel has signed with the Eagles and will have one year of eligibility after averaging 9.8 points for the Bears in the Southland Conference. He joins two recruits already in the fold for Southern Indiana, high school prospects Austin Davis and Taylor Wischmeier. Three scholarships remain open for next season.
Rehmel, a native of Jasonville, Ind., played at Shakamak High School and then Olney Central College.
“Jared wanted to finish his career closer to home and we welcome him to USI,” coach Rodney Watson said in a statement released by the school. “Jared is a very good shooter and we need that skill. We feel his competitive personality matches ours. He is excited to begin summer school with his new teammates, which will give them time to blend together.”
Best of luck to Jared at USI!
