Good evening Bears fans. I'm writing to let you know about a new Central Arkansas basketball website we launched recently: http://purplebearpride.com. It's powered by StatSheet.com and I'm the editor.

We offer up article game recaps, previews, game notes, recap notes, Conference Player of the Week, NCAA Player of the Week, etc. We have more article types under development now (including our own tournament seeding predictions) and would love to hear from you about how our site could be better.

Here is an example of one of our Recap Notes: http://purplebearpride.com/central-arka ... ap-notes-2

We also have a mobile apps for Android and Apple, as well as Twitter and Facebook pages.

Anyway, we are very interested in your feedback. We've got a lot of new features coming in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Are you using the old athletics logo in your own logo because you CAN'T use the current? Just curious. I figured copy write wouldn't let you. Cool site though. Thanks for the heads up!

Nice look. What are your plans between seasons?

Any plans to cover SugarBears?

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback!

That may be the case with the logo and I'll make a note of it. I know there are some schools we have 'logo issues' with.

Currently, we have no plans to do women's basketball, but it will probably be something we look at in the future. During the period between seasons, we're looking to improve the site by generating more in-depth statistics and coming up with new ideas. That's why any feedback, positive or negative, is greatly appreciated!

It would be nice if you could cover the Sugar Bears. Last time I checked
they were actually winning a few games.

If we do decide to go into women's basketball, the Sugar Bears will definitely have just as much coverage!

Lot of good woman's ball to cover in the SLC with UCA, Lamar, UTSA, McNeese...

Easy. It's still women's basketball.

Me too. But I like watching women's basketball. Some of those women would outplay most guys if they went one-on-one. :D

The only professional basketball is the WNBA.....whatever the NBA plays it ain't basketball...mostly streetball albeit with some great talent....but have no fear, the WNBA will eventually catch up...

No doubt the WNBA has and will have major talent. But it will never gain nationwide popularity. A very small percentage of America wants to watch that. It's a double standard just like in tennis - the women want to be on T.V. but get mad when the attractive ladies are put on Centre Court and seen on ESPN. Just the way things are, unfortunately.

I like professional basketball, but really gave up on the NBA when players began to move from team to team just to get bigger contracts or win championships. Gone are the days of players staying with one team and building it from there. So..as you can tell, I quit watching in the early 90s.
