We know the Bears signed Darius Singleton (avg 16.7pts and 7reb this season) and Malcolm Canada (18.1pts, 5.1ast, 5 reb, 2.7stl) early.
Apparently, they have signed former UCA Bear, 6'6" Robert Crawford (Tulsa, OK/Connors St.) and former Conway High star, 6'7" Jarvis Garner (Connors St.)
These would be two immediate impact players that fit Coach W's style of play.

Seems like the staff is making some major moves to make UCA a conference contender in the near future.

YES!!! Our backcourt is gonna be huge now with Robert Crawford at 6'5". PLUS Mark Rutledge(6'4"); Ryan Williams(6'4"); LaQuentin Miles(6'5"); Aubrey Ball(6'3"), AND the high school kids, Darius Singleton(6'6") and Malcon Canada(6'3"). Now we just need to add more strength and weight on these boys.

So, the story on Garner and Crawford reads:
Quote:
The two signees join five returnees from Coach Corliss Williamson’s first UCA team, as well as five players who redshirted last season.

Someone above mentioned Canada and Singleton. The story doesn't mention them. Are they still headed this way?

If so, that would put us - assuming that everyone else returned - at 15 players on the roster, just one less than the 16 from this year. With only 13 head-count (full) scholarships to give, that means we have two walk ons included in that roster? I guess that's why I'm concerned that Canada and Singleton weren't mentioned in the story...

The Bears most likely plan to have two to four walk-ons next season. Singleton and Canada are still headed to Conway.

Word is the Bears finished their 2011 recruiting class with 5'11" PG Carlin Bremner (Huntersville, NC/North Mecklenburg HS). Bremner is rated a 71 on ESPN and according to Rivals was getting many Ivy League looks.
