Not able to get broadcast via internet tonight. Iowa gametracker shows Hawkeyes lead 75-46 with 12:15 to go in 2d.

Bears shooting 37% FGs and Iowa over 53%...UCA is 6 fo 10 from 3s which is a change.....Clayborn leads UCA with 15 and Miles has 12....Harks is next at 6....Iowa has 5 in double figures....

Bears fall 105-64.

Harks had 8 points and 15 rebounds. Clayborn led Bears in s oring at 18 with Miles at 12. Wells also added 7.

Team shot 8/19 for 43% from 3s and 10/14 for 71% Fts..however, only 37% for FGs.

Iowa led 55-42 at half and outscored Bears 49-22 in 2nd half...UCA shot only 18% from FGs and 3s in last half.

Iowa won rebounds 55-38, blocks by 7-2, assist 32-15 and had only 14 TOs to Bears 19.

Astoundingly, Iowa led points in the paint by 64-24.

Next up is Drake in Des Moines on Wed.

I get that feeling the next two are not going to be much different.

I saw some tweets last night that spoke to your last point. They scored as much in the paint as we did in the game. The problem is that Iowa isn't that good and we got beat by 41.

Drake and then a very hot UNLV team are left before January and conference season starts. It's too bad we don't get to play the OVC any more. Those are our only three D1 wins this season.

If the previous posts didn't make you feel good, this one surely will:

RT @scottdochterman: Iowa wins 105-64. Central Arkansas is the worst team I've seen, Worse than Chicago State

This from a sportswriter in Iowa City.

Thanks to @ArkSt_com for retweeting. What does it say about ASU that they only beat us by 7?

I know this is three posts in a row, but here is some of the twitter dialog from last night (twitter search on "central arkansas"; leaving out all tweets about the need for Pippen or Coach Williamson to suit up):

7:25pm - Iowa kicking the bleep out of Central Arkansas. Leading 24-5 after 8 minutes.
7:26 - Central Arkansas really blows at basketball.
7:28 - I'd rather spend 20 minutes reading a shampoo bottle than watching Central Arkansas vs. Chicago State (this from the reporter in the post above)
7:33 - I'm going to pretend central arkansas is good to make me feel better about this game tonight

But then, we go on a run ...
7:42 - Iowa has suddenly forgotten how defense is played. UCA (oh come on, you know that's Central Arkansas) getting tons of WIDE-open looks.
7:42 - It took a little more than 5 minutes of game clock for Iowa to see a 19-point lead trimmed to 6 by Central Arkansas. Not good. #Hawkeyes
7:45 - Dewan Clayborn now 5-of-5 from 3 point range for Central Arkansas. Rise and fire, YOUNG FELLA.
7:47 - Why is this Dewan Clayborn guy only playing at Central Arkansas?

And the tweet that sent everything spiraling back ...
7:47 - On the season, Central Arkansas has shot 25% from 3-point range. Naturally, they're shooting 71% tonight.
8:28 - Things getting ugly in Carver. Iowa on 20-4 run, Central Arkansas shooting 13 percent on 2-of-16 shooting. UCA has missed at least 4 lay ups
8:36 - 2nd 8:08 Iowa 85 Central Arkansas 49. For Hawkeyes offense, the lane has been more wide open than Interstate 80 in the wee hours
8:44 - Someone needs to tell Central Arkansas they don't get points for throwing the ball at the backboard.
8:46 - Iowa has more dunks in the game than Central Arkansas does field goals in the second half. #Hawkeyes
8:47 - I can't wait for Iowa to stop playing Drake and UNI so we can see more teams like Central Arkansas come to town!
9:22 - Iowa beats Central Arkansas 105-64. Not sure what's more embarrassing - final score or fact a game like this gets scheduled in first place.
9:41 - When #Hawkeyes had the ball, there was less traffic in the paint than a deserted backroads highway in, well, central Arkansas.

I'm still holding out hope for the conference season, but I don't think the coaches/players have any idea what's going to happen once a game starts.

We had a good year in football...Basketball has never been much of a presence,
even when Pippen played we didn't win the conf. It is just something to pass
the time between Football season and spring football. That was in jest...it is
really confusing to me that the Bear Basketball team seems to strugle year after
year after year after year after year. obviously there are some components
missing, and I am not smart enough to tell anyone what they are. Hope they
can eventually turn it around.

You can see improvement and hope for conference play when looking at how UCA has competed against teams of similar caliber. Defeated Eastern Illinois, SEMO, Tenn Martin, close loss to ASU and a 20 point loss on the road to Sac. St. These are the type of teams that make up most of the Southland.

Exactly the same way I feel about watching Iowa play football.

This was a bad loss to a bad team. Not saying we should have won but still 105 points...

I think we need to be getting 40 minutes of help as opposed to giving 40 minutes of hell.

You said it was in jest, but the Bears won two AIC titles with Pippen on the squad...1986 and 1987, both teams went 23-6...

And from 1990-93, the men's basketball team made the NAIA National Tournament four straight years, including back-to-back losses to Oklahoma City (which had pretty much all Division I castoffs) in the finals.

Don't feel about losing to Iowa. Winning the conference tournament is really all that matters. UAPB won a NCAA Tournament game after going 0-11 in non-conference games.

Basketball in my days on campus was pretty solid..... old AIC was some of the best basketball in the US when it came to hard nosed, fundamentals. Great coaches and lots of talented players. Not "Kentucky" level but still very solid. We will get there.
