just wanted to say hi and see how bears fans are feeling about their team right now. How are the bears playing this year? Uptempo? Inside game? UTA has played well, but I think if the Bears play well tomorrow, UCA could win. We've been turning the ball over a lot the last few games, but luckily we get enough extra possessions from rebounds to make up for wasted/slopping possessions. Not sure if UTSA has played in Conway this season, but I'm convinced the Roadrunners are probably the best team in the league (better than our Mavs I think). Good luck tomorrow

Inconsistent sums it up for me....pretty good pressure defense when they play hard....they have to play with intensity for 40 minutes to win....

HALF

UTA 33
UCA 28

After a nearly disastrous first 15 minutes (down 17-0), the Bears pick it up to be competitive and got to within 3 at times. Clayborn had 9/4 and Rutledge, Harks and Harris all have 5 pts. Now actually outshooting Mavs by 34% to 32%, including 4 v 1 in 3s. UCA losing TO by 11 v 7 and Mavs lead is basically FTs where they lead 10 to 4.

Bears can win this game with strong 2nd half effort.

Nice comeback by the Bears. This would be a huge win over a very good UTA bunch.

FINAL

UTA 33-36=69 (17-5/9-0)
UCA 28-33=61 (7-14/2-7)

Bears lost first 15 minutes by 0-17 and won last 25 by 61-52......tied up at 50-50 then got to within 2 at 59-57 but could not get the last little bit to take a lead into the last minute or two... good effort to come back and actually out play UTA for much of the game...credit UTA (top team in SLC) for a fast start and hanging tough in last few minutes and not getting tired or rattled...

FGs: UCA 39% v 37%
3s: UCA 30% v 29%
FTs: UCA 60% v 73% (UTA had 19 made v Bears 9 made..that is the game)
Rebs: UCA 39 v45 (much of that was in the first 15 minutes)
TOs: UCA 20 v16

Ryan Williams...14/6 with 3 big 3s
Dewan Clayborn ....12/4 with 4 3s
Jordan Harks....9/3

Coach: Off to a pretty bad start...seemed intimidated....our guys could have given up but did not and decided to fight and got back into the game...we have lots of guys capable of scoring and with Miles out someone had a good chance to step up...Ryan Williams scored 14...without Miles and Henson were short and could not pressure as much....still feel we can get a win at Texas State and finish off well the rest of the way...

Next is Texas State at San Marcos on Wed night for the last time.....

Listened to the game on radio...very similar to our TAMU-CC game. Huge lead, go ice cold, withstand other team's best effort and pull out a win in the last 5:00. Every team is giving us a close game lately, we're just a couple of baskets or a few free throws better than the other team.

UCA is one player away from being pretty good..... that player is on the team but we just cannot seem to have consistency from one game to the next...not having LaQuentin Miles today was a factor for us....Mavs took care of business when it counted..that is why they are 9-0 in SLC...

JRK, I think you're right we are one key player away from
being good and day in and day out competitive in the SLC.
Corliss has to find his right five.
