Did anyone see the article in yesterday's ADG about Lamar mens basketball
coach Knight calling out his senior class. He pretty much threw them under
the bus...calling them selfish, un-motiviated bunch of loosers who were stealing
money from the university by being on scholarship. He said he could not wait
until this senior class is gone. Seems to be pretty harsh words about a fairly
good team with a 9-5 conf. record. I guess you never know what happens
behind the scenes.

After another very frustrating night of Lamar Basketball Coach Knight channeled his inner Bobby and went off during his interview with KLVI. These were some of the comments I remember:

"What we have is a sorry group of seniors..."

"This is the worst group of seniors I've ever been associated with..."

"Team is like a bunch of tin-men.....they have no heart..."

"We have another week and a half of this then they can go into the real world...."

"If they leave here and go through life like they approach this game I feel sorry for them..."

"it wasnt SFA's defense we had 20 more shots than them..."

"dont care for the program..."

"it's the same crap all year long...."

"What we have here is a bunch of lemons and we're trying to squeeze the last bit of juice out of them..."

Can it be fixed by Saturday?

"If we play like we play tonight we won't win another game"


Lord knows what Coach Roc must have put up with over the last few years. Wow.

Don't worry about the name of the link, it's legit. His message is not about talent but attitude & character. Not trying to be a hard case, but I like his message and respect his honest.

I agree completely TBeardad...but in this day and time you have to be
extremely careful of what you say. You might hurt someone's feelings
and cause mental anguish or give them a complex that might last the rest
of their lives and they would then have grounds for a lawsuit. Some of these
guys are probably still nursing. I give coach Knight credit for telling it like
he sees it...just hope it doesn't become a major issue.

Since UCA joined the Southland, Lamar has had the best talent, but always underachieved.

Sounds like a coaching issue.

It's not about the x's and the o's...It's about the Jimmy's and the Joe's.

Frank Haith at Mizzou had the same team as Mike Anderson.....best example I have ever seen to show what difference a coach can make....Haith has found how to get his players to play as a team ..something they had been lacking....Knight Jr might take a trip to COMO after the season and visit with Haith...
