HALFTIME

UTSA 38
UCA 25

Bears got off to a decent start and hung in until about 7 minute mark, eading 20-19, then UTSA really cranked up the pace....RRs then went on a 12-0 run for a 31-22 lead at 3:51.... Bears go 0-5 with 3 TOs in the time....RRs go 4-7 with 2 3s....Bears continue the drought with 1-5 shooting while UTSA goes 2-5 with some FTs....poor shooting last few minutes plus getting whipped on the boards...

FGs: UCA 29% v 42%
3s: 33% v 45%
FTs: 100% v 61% (Bears are 2-2 while RRs are 11-18)
Rebs: 17 v 23
TOs: 8 v 7

SR Mark Rutledge is 7/3
SR Dewan Clayborn is 6/1
Jarvis Garner is 6/2

Big hole to dig out of to salvage a home court winning season...not impossible....

The first few minutes were good, but the baskets went south, then the rebounds went south. Gotta work on that.

JEREMY NORDMAN

Although the University of Central Arkansas men lost their final home game Wednesday night, there was joy in the Bear locker room about one simple statistics.

Jeremy Nordman, two points.

Those were the only two points Nordman, a walk-on, seldom-used senior from Bryant, scored during his four-year career.

UCA coach Corliss Williamson, who substituted in waves in a victory over Southeastern Louisiana last week, wanted to work Nordman into that rotation but couldn’t. The opportunity came Wednesday when UTSA was assessed with a technical foul and Nordman was sent to the free-throw line, hitting both attempts.

Nordman was one of those seldom-noticed, seldom-seen players who show up from practice every day, take their lumps and are not bothered to be out of the spotlight. He had a simple dream of playing college basketball, not for glory but for the fun and fulfillment.Mission accomplished.
