Tip at 4pm

Demons come to town with a record of 9-5/3-1 and coming off first SLC loss by 80-74 at ORU.

NWS rated about #108 in D1 and woudl be opicked to win by about 7. After Bears play vs SFA that might be a stretch.

Nov 9 - W vs. East Texas Bapt, 118-77
Nov 12 - W at Campbell, 71-67
Nov 17 - W vs. Hannibal-LaGrange, 92-43
Nov 20 - L at LSU, 95-102
Nov 26 - L at Texas A&M, 65-78
Nov 30 - L at Oklahoma, 65-69

Dec 4 - W vs. Louisiana Tech, 89-83
Dec 15 - W vs. Missouri Valley, 95-78
Dec 29 - L at Arkansas, 61-79
Dec 31 - W vs. Letourneau, 102-52
Jan 3 - W vs. McNeese State, 78-63
Jan 5 - W vs. Lamar, 86-58
Jan 7 - W at Sam Houston St, 73-64
Jan 10 - L at Oral Roberts, 74-80

NWS is 2nd in SLC with a +17 scoring amrgin and 2nd in scoring at 79 ppg. Bears have <4> margin and give up 77 ppg. One key is to slow Demons down and keep game in the 60s to low 70s. That will be a chore. A track meet plasy to their game.

Teams are about even on FT% and FGs % but Demons hold SLC opponents to only 36% FGs....UCA has a clear advantage in3 s at 37% vs 25%...got to use that to our advantage strategically...

Bears actually have an edge in rebounds although NWS leads SLC at 44 pg...however, opponents take 45 per game...UCA is about +6 in SLC play....game vs SFA did not help our stats here...

Teams are pretty even in assists and blocks but NWS is +5 vs Bears in steals...

FINAL

http://www.ucasports.com/news/2013/1/12/MBB_0112132152.aspx

NWS 100 UCA 88

Fall behind..make a mad dash to close..just cannot get the last bucket to fall.....Demons had six in double figures and Bears had 4.... Crawford hit for 22 and Q talled 21 and Garner had 18....

Bear actually made more FGs but NWS hit 5 fo 2s (1/22) and we could only do 4 for 13...TOs only 12 and ww we +3.....had 9 steals....73 FTs combiined with NWS making 30 to our 24.....

Coach W hit it on the head in that the guys just have to figure out how to get over the hump.....

By all measures NWS should have won and did...but Bears can win these games....
