Bergersen is a 6-foot-6 guard who will have two years of eligibility at UCA. Bergersen played at Link Year Prep in Branson, Mo., and was a teammate of UCA guard DeAndre Jones and center Hayden Koval. He also played with Jones at Borah High School in Boise, Idaho.
"Rylan brings a wealth of talent and experience to our program,' said UCA head coach Russ Pennell. "He is a big guard with tremendous shooting range. His ability to stretch the floor fits perfectly with our offensive system. But, Rylan also possesses the ability to create offense for himself off the dribble. His athleticism and strength make him a tough match up for our defenders.
"What I really love the most about Rylan is his drive and determination to be successful. He is a leader and demands excellence from himself and his teammates. We look forward to him bringing that passion to our team. UCA just improved a lot by having Rylan choose the Bears.'
Bergersen averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists at Link Year Prep. He averaged 15.5 points, 5.7 rebound and 3.0 assists as a senior at Borah HS, while shooting 53 percent from the floor and 41 percent from three-point range. He helped Borah (23-3) to the 5A state semifinals and was a first-team All-State selection.
Bergersen's father Roberto was selected in the second round of the 1999 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks and is a member of the Boise State Hall of Fame.
The addition of Bergersen brings UCA's signing class to five, including guards Collin Cooper, Masai Olokowere and Lewis McDaniel and center Jonas Munson.
