Senior Brianna LaBrot was named to the All-Southland Conference Academic Team.
FRISCO, Texas- Three Central Arkansas volleyball players were named to the 2006 All-Southland Conference Academic Team on Tuesday. Sophomore Camila Scapini earned first team honors, while seniors Brianna LaBrot and Rachel Copley were placed on the third team.

Scapini, a third team All-Conference selection at middle blocker, led UCA with 3.09 kills per game and a .334 hitting percentage. The Salto, Brazil native posted a 3.12 grade point average in Economics-International Trade.

LaBrot, a defensive specialist from Glendale, Ariz., was second on the team with 2.80 digs per game. She had the highest GPA of all the Sugar Bears with a 3.82 in Insurance and Risk Management.

Copley, a right-side hitter from Conway, recorded 2.41 kills and 0.76 blocks per game. She earned a 3.54 GPA in Pre-Marketing.

The Sugar Bears, under head coach Steven McRoberts, finished 19-17 in their first season as a NCAA Division I member.

Great job ladies! You represent UCA well.

With all the classes I'm assuming they missed at the beginning of the season, that's pretty impressive.

Pre-Marketing? I've heard of Pre-Law, Pre-Med and things of the like ... but never Pre-Marketing. I take it she will soon go on to Marketing school for three years?

I wonder if one can major in Pre-English or Pre-PE or Pre-Math?
