Following her teammate, Chloe Smith of Central Arkansas was named Freshman of the Year after finishing second in kills (3.96). Smith had two notable performances in 2007. Her 20 kills against UTSA on October 21 are tied for most in a three game match and her 72 attempts against McNeese State on November 3 rank third for most in a five game match.

Great job volleyball team. I hope they can continue to build. I just found where they finished ranked 137 this year in the RPI out of 325. Here is the link: http://www.richkern.com/vb/rankings/RKPIShow.asp?VBYear=2007&Div=DI&week=15-Dec+3+

Notice how many teams they finished ahead of this year. Great job coaches and players. 3 winning seasons in a row after years of losing. Keep it going into the top 100 next year.

Obviously a flawed system if an Arkansas university (or two) ranks higher than uaf....uncouth slogs whoever came up with this.....I would LOVE to have seen the VolleyBears take on uaf......but that would destroy volleyball in our state...

Lord, we don't want that do we '07. We've already been accused of trying to destroy soccer in our great state. BTW, by reinstating soccer I have seen a humongous interest in the sport this past year. Has anyone else picked up on it?

You mean that fact that I attended a soccer match for the first time? :D Seriously, I'm a big advocate for keeping soccer, there's too many people interested in it.
