Weynand, Curl Named Southland Volleyball Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week - Jessica Weynand, Texas State
Weynand, a native of Brenham, Texas, had just two attack errors all week as she averaged 3.57 kills per set and led Texas State to wins over league rivals Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UTSA. She hit .444 on 13 kills in a 3-1 win over the Islanders, and came up big again with 12 kills and eight digs in a sweep over the Road Runners to give the Bobcats their fourth straight win.

Honorable Mention: Evaree Franklin, UCA; Lauren Holdroff, LU; Bianca Sauls, UTA, Emma Ridley, AMCC.

Defensive Player of the Week - Cristin Curl, Central Arkansas
Curl, a native of Amarillo, Texas, took over the Southland digs lead by averaging 5.71 per set in a pair of wins. On Tuesday against Oral Roberts, she came up with 18 digs in a three-set sweep and on the road at McNeese State, she tied a career-high with 22 digs in four sets. For the season, Curl is averaging 4.63 digs per set and is tied for second overall with 227 on the season.

Congratulations to Cristin and Evaree! It's great to see them get some well-deserved recognition for their consistently outstanding play.
