Frantz, Curl Named Southland Volleyball Players of the WeekRISCO, Texas - UT Arlington senior Tara Frantz and Central Arkansas senior Cristin Curl were named the Southland Conference Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday.
Offensive Player of the Week - Tara Frantz, UT Arlington
Frantz led the Mavericks to a pair of conference victories last weekend by posting two double-kill performances, including a 24-kill night against McNeese State. The outside hitter from Santa Fe, Texas (Santa Fe H.S.), averaged 4.4 kills per set while hitting an impressive .478 percent in the two matches. Behind Frantz's strong offensive effort, the Mavericks improved their record in conference play to 3-1.

Defensive Player of the Week - Cristin Curl, Central Arkansas
Curl helped Central Arkansas to a 2-0 conference weekend while holding opposing hitters to .137 in a pair of sweeps for the Sugar Bears. Curl, a senior libero from Amarillo, Texas (Tascosa H.S.), tallied 52 digs on the week, including a 32-dig performance against Nicholls State.
