Yep, pretty tough on the nerves and the digestive system. As far as the football game I can say it's been a long time since I've seen a game where a team had total dominance over their opponent but yet had to fight for their lives for a little over 59 minutes to come out on top. #-o

Not sure what the referees called but SELA had match point at 14-13 and hit a shot that was called in givinng them the game. The other ref went across the court and the two conferred then replayed the point over the protest of a very upset SELA coach, and UCA won 3 straight to take the match. I thought the ball hit a SB foot and popped up but one ref signalled point for SELA before the ball hit the floor. Not sure we could have returned but play just stopped. Someone sitting behind me conjectured that SELA put the ball in play before the ref on the near side was ready. All I know for sure is that the point was replayed and we went on to win.

We played OK but seemed to never be able to find a way to consistently get the ball past the net. We kept hitting into their defense in the saem place almost every time. Credit to SELA as they played tough and had a player who was everywhere saving points. We also seemed to give up way too many points on serves.

Credit to SBs for not giving up when trailing 2-1 and behind. Hard way to win.

I don't know anything about volleyball outside of some (usually co-ed) recreational play, but it seemed to me like the sets were too low and too close to the net on our side. Maybe that was the game plan and intentional. It just seemed to put us too close and too low to the blockers.

Whatever it was we rarely used any angled shots but simply hit right into the teeth of their defense.

Yes but they won the game didn't they? And I think they are missing a player or two.

If you ask the SELA coach, I think he's say that we were awarded the game.
