On Feb. 24, an EF-3 tornado hit the town of Dumas, in southeast Arkansas. The ballparks at the Dumas Lions Club complex were destroyed by the storm.

The UCA Athletic Department and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be raising money at this weekend's home baseball and softball games to contribute to a fundraising effort (www.buildaballpark.org) to rebuild the ballparks. There are 400 youngsters in Dumas that would not be able to enjoy a normal summer of baseball without this help.

If you are unable to make it to the baseball and softball games on Friday and Saturday but would still like to donate, please contact me at 450-5743 or e-mail me and we will pick up your donation on campus. Thanks in advance for your help.

UCA BASEBALL: Friday, 12:00 (doubleheader); Saturday, 1:00

UCA SOFTBALL: Friday, 3:00 & 5:00; Saturday, Noon

Steve (East...UCA Sports Information Director)

also, the games will be on The Bear 91.3 and on the internet at UCAsports.com. Pregame begins at 11:50 Friday and 12:50 on Saturday afternoon!

GO BEARS!

Say BF(baseball freak)101, would you be sure and save me and the wife a couple of premier seats tomorrow. Will be a little late for the first one. Also, since it's a doubleheader, does that mean we get in free twice?

well you get in free 4 times actually, 2 times for the both of you...

I'll see if I can scope out a prime piece of aluminum masterpiece for you two to sit on at some point tomorrow...

I also heard their may be a bit of tailgate action in the morning as well...

Question: Does a party of 2 = tailgate action?
Debate amongst yourselves.

This is a loaded question. It can be taken one of two ways. Either way, it sounds as though I could be in for a big surprise. 8-[

HOT CHOCOLATE ?

I will be making a very brief appearance at the game today. I've got a friend who is passing through town and wanted to see the school. His name is Jack Daniels from up Kentucky way.

I'll see what I can pull off, although those live stats may be of the vocal kind on 91.3 or ucasports.com

Bears won the first one. I think it ended up 16-8. Our bats were pretty lively and Prichett pitched a good game. Very windy and cool at the ballpark with our open-air seating we have.
