well I was hearing something about stadium expansion/construction beginning after this season is completed, but I still dont have 100% confirmation on that one, so I'm not quite getting too excited yet, but I know that day is coming!

Any news on the new light bulb at Bear Field? There's only 5 weeks left to install it.

I went by last week and there was still only the one footing poured for lights. The electrical "tuff shed" type building that houses the switches is up and some men were working inside it when I drove by. Other than a few survey flags on the ground, that's it.

poles and lights should go up literally any day now according to the coaching staff the other afternoon I went by to meet with them. So now it really is a waiting game.

This is for all of you baseball junkies out there, but as I was coming in to campus this morning at 7:35 central standard time, I spotted a tractor trailor rig hauling the light standards for the baseball field pulling into the parking lot of the Farris Center.

Looked like a crew was getting ready to go to work.

By the way, the temperature on campus this morning...19 degrees.

That's what I wanted to hear. I might go by on the way home and gawk at 'em.

I guess what I saw was the crew to do the unloading...the standards are laying on the north end of the Farris Center parking lot.

I asked around today about when they might be put up, but no one seemed to know a timetable.

Stopped by the ball field today and one of the workers told me the poles should be up by the end of next week. Don't know if that meant the lights also. Josh, NO. I'm not taking pictures and posting them. They're just ordinary looking long metal poles!

Poles don't really turn me on Monty. Not until they get me some nice bleachers to sit on and a restroom that you don't have to turn on the facet in the sink in order to get the toilet to flush  will I be too excited about the renovations.
