Southland also got some nice compliments from ESPN play-by-play last night during St Mary's v Portland game ...... a couple of times the crew made the point that the SLC winner should go at least a couple of rounds int the Big Dance and the conference plays solid basketball and might get two into the tourney although a long shot....

SEC pretty low in baseball RPI...I guess those wins in Fayetteville over Wright State did not count for much.....if you heard the TV news coverage in NWA you would thought WSU won the NCAAs last year.....

There were plenty of national college baseball people picking Wright State to win the series over the Hogs.

It certainly would be GREAT if the conference got two into the dance, but I think it is going to be difficult.

Basketball in this league is as good as you will see anywhere.

I'll throw this out for the sake of discussion, if we don't get two teams in the dance, what do you guys think about the possibility of getting two teams in the NIT ?

The SLC is deep and loaded in baseball. UTSA, Lamar, Sam Houston, SELA, NW St. and Texas St. can win games at any time vs. anyone. I'm glad to be in the SLC in baseball.
