I'm going on record of saying toughest schedule ever to date for UCA...that will only get tougher once we move up starting next season. I thought there might be a possibility we see one or two Southland teams on there, but we must not have been able to work it in this spring.

No argument here! Definitely better have a deep pitching staff if they want to be competive on their non-conference schedule too. Besides St. Edwards I don't think Coach would necessarily want to schedule an SLC team because of the travel. Maybe if he were able to piggy back a UTA and some other area school but you really have to limit the amount of overnight trips outside of conference.

I talked to coach Clark the other day for about 30 min. and he informed me that this year's team is going to be extremly better than last years! He said the pitching is better, the defense is better and hitters are better. Man baseball season is almost here, I can't wait

Did he mention anything about planning on having some sort of set lineup before April?

SLC schools don't typically play Div II baseball teams....

SHSU plays Angelo St this year. First time we play a Div II in quite some time, maybe four or five years? TxSt-SM played them last year. Lamar hasn't in the last two years, if not much longer. Even new team, SFA has no Div II opponents.

I think SLC teams are more inclined to play SWAC schools than Div II. SLC has gotten two bids in the past to NCAA baseball tournament and that's why this occurs, selective scheduling...

FYI, Dallas Baptist is an NCAA Div I independent squad in baseball. If they were in the SLC, they'd win the darn thing each year, no doubt about it. I'm sure they'd love to schedule UCA in the future as you guys are regional and you both need series. DBU's got one impressive schedule though...

He did not say of any type of lineup for the upcoming season, but I imagion it won't be long before he comes up with one
