UCA is 10-6 (4-2) (RPI 106) and Murray State comes in at 11-4 (12-4 vs all competition) (RPI 168).

it's only MSU's 2nd trip away from their home stadium this season. Bobby Pritchett will start one of the games for UCA, at least according to DC in the postgame interview...

I don't believe that's accurate.

Tomorrow at 6, Wednesday at 2.

Your night game is still on, best I can tell.

I wouldn't trust that. Stick with UCASports.com's schedule of 6 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Bobby will start tonight as of DC yesterday afternoon...Ward may get the nod on Wednesday afternoon, still TBA.

MSU took 2 of 3 from So. Dakota St to open the season. They also whipped Memphis by 10 runs, beat up on stAte 11-5 on their home field a couple of weeks back. They won 2 of 3 from St Louis Univ this past weekend in STL, their only 3 road games of the season.

Good job ...Bears play better and wins come more easily...however, 10 KOs batting is not a good sign....who starts in wed game?

OK. How much longer before Tye gets moved to the top of the order to get an extra AB each game.

He
leads the team in BA and OBP.
is 4th in slugging.
has just 6 Ks.
is second in RBIs.

I'm obviously not a coach, and I do understand the value of having a "second leadoff guy" batting in the 9 spot. And maybe he prefers batting at the bottom of the lineup. But he's started and played 16 of 17 games, and he has double-digit fewer at bats than the top of the lineup (which is also hitting well).

Maybe I'm just pulling for my White Hall/Pine Bluff area players more than others...

HOME RUN CARRIES UCA TO 6-4 VICTORY
BASEBALL • Mar 17, 2009

CONWAY, Ark _ Tye Throneberry’s eighth-inning home run carried the University of Central Arkansas Bears to a 6-4 victory over the Murray State Thoroughbreds on Tuesday night at Bear Stadium.

Throneberry, a junior center fielder from White Hall, hit a two-out, two-run home run to right center that scored shortstop Graham Martin with the go-ahead run. Throneberry finished 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored...

I'm not sure if T-Berry will ever get moved up to the top half, except maybe spot games. He seems to entrenched himself in that spot. If I remember right, he spent most of last season near the bottom of the order when he was in (honestly, I cant remember) and did well there as well. Also DC loves Zack and Huffman as a 1-2 punch at the top of the order.

I am extremely happy for Graham hitting his HR last night while getting a chance to play. Maybe he'll find a spot in the order somewhere more frequeently.
